You're Egg-Strordinary Easter Cricut Card

Today's Easter card was so fun to put together!  I have been dying to cut out this bunny from the Cricut Easter Magic digital cartridge - isn't he cute?  And the digital banner cartridge makes such cute looking banners really quickly!  It was very easy to size the banner and get it stamped correctly using the Cricut Craft Room (click HERE for more info on Cricut Craft Room, Provo Craft's free online design tool).
Cricut Easter Magic and Banners are both digital cartridges, retail for $9.99 and can be purchased HERE.  They can be used with the Cricut Craft Room or the Gypsy.

For the base of the card, I used the Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge.  It is my go to cartridge for card bases - very versatile!  It also has loads of cute word art and animals.

For the oval shapes (regular and scalloped), I used the Cricut Craft Room Basics, free on the Craft Room.  I laid out all my shapes to make sure they were proportioned correctly and then cut them.  Designing this way saves a lot of time and paper waste - also I can do it while I am watching a movie!  Bonus!

Check out the Close to My Heart March stamp of the month above!  Super cute and just $5 after a $50+ purchase at joytracey.ctmh.com!

You're the Best and I'm Not Lion Card

I have wanted to cut this lion forever!  He's from the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge and was cut at 2-3/4".

There's an easy way to cut the animals out in the proper colors on Create A Critter using the Cricut Craft Room.

Here's a photo tutorial on it:

First, you select the Cricut Imagine as your machine.
Now all the animals will show up properly on your mat in their colored form.  All the animals from Create A Critter, Team Spirit and some from Cindy Loo are divided out like this.

Select Create A Critter-34 for the lion (he's key 34) - see images below.  Drag him to the mat.

After sizing the lion as you liked, then click on the "edit group" button as shown below:
Next, in the upper right hand of the mat, click the button that says "separate" as shown below:
Then, this will happen (see below):
Now, you can grab the pieces separately and move them around on the mat for best paper placement (see below):
When you get that arranged as you like, click "Exit" shown below:
Now, layout out your papers on your mat according to color.  Then go back and change the machine setting to "Cricut Expression" or whatever machine you are using, if not the Imagine.

When you do this, all the pieces will turn one color as shown below so it's important to get the papers on the mat laid out BEFORE you switch the machine setting.  If you forget which papers went where, just switch it back to "Imagine" and the different colors will show up again.
This speeds up figuring out which papers go with which layers.

Have you tried doing this in the Craft Room before?  Let me know if this was helpful!
The stamp on the card is from a Scrappy Moms set called "Little Critters".  Take a look how cute this is:
Don't forget that Scrappy Moms is sponsoring my giveaway this week - you could win a set of your choice!  Enter by clicking HERE (and then scroll to see the entry form at the bottom).
The card base is from the Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge.  I love that cartridge for it's great card shapes and word art.  I cut it at 5".

We all scream..

We all scream for....ice cream!  It's summer, it's hotter than hot outside and I thought this fun shaped ice cream sundae card would be perfect for this time of year.  The Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge has some really cute shaped cards, including this ice cream sundae one, which I cut at 7" high.
Above, I used green glitter paper for the leaf.  Typically, I would have used red glitter paper for the cherry but that is actually a layer of the card and I worried about gluing a bunch of other layers on top of glitter paper.  I intended to use my Stickles (glitter glue) to glitter the cherry.  I am prone to smearing glitter glue so I usually wait until the end of the crafting session to add on the glitter glue so I can put the project up and away and it will be sure to stay pristine.  Well, suffice it to say, I put the card away and kept crafting and forgot all about it.  Whoops!
A side view of the card.  The stamp sentiment was perfect for the card and comes from the Joy's Life Yummy Puns stamp set, which is adorable!  You can check it out HERE.

Do you like shaped cards?  Do you ever make them?

I like them but I don't typically make odd shaped ones, such as the card above.  I'm more of a scalloped circle, square, etc. shaped card girl.

Halloween Birthday Bash Card with SEI

This scalloped card base was cut at 5-1/2" using Cricut Cartridge Birthday Bash cartridge. I love the little scallops along the edge.  Love the card feature on this cartridge - it is the hidden gem here!! The tree outline with the bird and moon is cut from Cricut Lite Celebrate with Flourish cartridge at 3-1/4".

Don't you LOVE this new SEI Spooks paper set?  It's so glittery and metallic!  All paper but the background cardstock are from this Spooks paper set.  Cardstock is from Core'dinations.

I always LOVE putting some paper on the inside of the card - just to dress it up a little!

Ribbon is from Papertrey Ink.  I popdotted the center section to give a little ummpph.  Stamp is from this month's Close to My Heart monthly stamp set.

Tune in tomorrow for more Halloween fun with new SEI paper and iron-ons!

Also, if you're getting in the Christmas spirit, head over to Everyday Cricut to see some of our best Christmas projects from last year!

Cricut Birthday Bash Elegant Card!

There is an awesome card and tag feature key on the new Cricut Birthday Bash Cartridge that I am just loving!!  This card shape and title ("celebrate") were cut at 5-1/4" and it took no time!  I used double sided K & Company paper so the inside is decorated also.  Anna Grffin's dimensional flower sticker provided the focal point.

The "celebrate" automatically resizes to cut to fit the card - you don't have to change the dial (FYI for newbies!).  I cuttlebugged the scalloped oval (cut from the Cricut A Child's Year cartridge at 4-3/4") using the damask folder.  I also added some white pen work to the "celebrate" wording to give it some attention.

Inside I cut two more scalloped circles from the Cricut A Child's Year cartridge at 4-3/4" and 4-1/2" using Core'dinations cardstock.  Did some inking also!

Here are the sample images from the Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge - so cute!  But it can be elegant also!

Tune in tomorrow for another project!  Have a great day, guys!  HUGS!!
