Ever since I saw this background, I knew I wanted to make a red and white candy striped Christmas card with it.
Through trial and error, I found that cutting the background at 7" created a card that was sized at 5-3/4" x 5". Not a standard size but still not too awkward. You could make an envelope to fit or just use a 5"x7" envelope.
I used colonial white and crystal blue Close to My Heart cardstock for the backing.
I also used the stamp set shown below from the Close to My Heart Frosted Workshop on the Go Cardmaking Kit (click HERE to see more):
The Close to My Heart Frosted Workshop on the Go Cardmaking Kit makes 15 cards, 5 of each of the 3 designs shown below and comes with the stamp set above and everything to make these cards except for the inks. The kit includes full color instructions and a cutting guide.
The Close to My Heart ink colors you need are cocoa, ruby, twilight and olive - you can see those HERE.
In the photo above, I did Cuttlebug some of the sections - the Cuttlebug folders are not included in the card making kit.

Yay! Super cute card! This weekend (well actually Sunday) my kids and grandkids and some friends will be joining us for hamburgers and Polish sausages and other yummies TBA :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome card. I had to keep looking to see what cut you used but then I started reading and went "ahhhhh". Great idea!
ReplyDeleteAs for the weekend, we haven't made plans because it's supposed to be raining. So we'll be home for college ball and I'll just spend the weekend crafting and preparing for my first show of the season.
Super cute card!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I will be attending a 50th birthday party for my nephew.
It really isn't too soon to start Christmas cards! One last summer picnic on Sunday, triplet birthday party, too. Lots of cake!
ReplyDeleteNo family plans - son is at school, daughter is working. Maybe some pool time, baking time, scrapping time.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card! I just ordered the Artbooking cartridge and I'm waiting for it to arrive! While I'm waiting I'm watching all of your Artbooking videos so I'm ready to create! Thank you for all your great videos and for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteThat Merry & Bright sentiment stamp is beautiful. I will be trying to catch up on a long "to do" list here around the house.
ReplyDeleteVery festive--I like the striped background. We will be getting ready to have family over on Monday.
ReplyDeleteVery nice card. Hubby is meeting oldest son for camping this weekend. Saturday we will all meet at brother-in-laws for family picnic. Rest of the weekend I will spend crafting.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!

ReplyDeleteVery pretty card and one for my favorite season and my favorite occasion to make cards!
ReplyDeleteGreat card. Thanks, I need something to nudge me into starting my Christmas stuff.
ReplyDeleteI don't have plans for the weekend - not that organized! I LOVE your card and that kit looks amazing! I may have to "lift" that if I ever get the Artbooking Cart!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Your Christmas card is so beautiful it truly is amazing what a difference those fantastic layovers make. My choice is for the red ink for the stamp. I love your bows too. Just everything came together for a fantastic card. TFS!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's a beautiful and classy card...love that stamp. And the video too...TFS I never saw the arm rubbing part LOL. It's not enough to try to hide our inky fingers at the grocery store, but now my arm for all the times I forget that I might have actually USED the stamp already.:) As for the weekend plans...PANIC is the word. After working my tail off for a nephew's wedding Sat, hubby decided I should go with him on a business trip and take a breather and relax only to get a call from stressed sister telling me I need to also have a BBQ for out of town guests because she's too stressed..UGH! My house has been neglected while all this prep was going on and I was a gazillion miles away. So I'm home this AM and was frantically scrubbing and vacuuming and still don't know my menu. Took a break and needed some 'Joy time'...thanks for coming thru for me! (Sorry so long, but you asked) ;)
ReplyDeleteI just love Christmas cards. This card is very pretty. Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteMary O'Neal
