Today's Close to My Heart Artbooking card uses this arrow overlay background and coordinating arrows. I wanted to put a variety of colors behind the cream colored arrow overlay.
Last week, in THIS POST, I showed you how to put a variety of colors behind an overlay using the Cricut Craft Room.
Then, I got a lot of requests to show you all how to hand piece the various colors behind an overlay background. The video below will show you how to do that.
To start, using the Close to My Heart Artbooking Cricut cartridge, I cut the overlay shown above at 8", NO real dial size.
Then, using the same cartridge, I cut two arrows - one at 1" and one at 1-1/2". The "thanks" (sized at 1") was welded using the font on this cartridge.
Here's a close up of the Close to My Heart Artbooking cartridge bundle (see below):Check out the video below to see how to hand piece this card (click HERE if you can't see the video):
Questions about vinyl from yesterday...
1) What vinyl to use and how well does it last?
I use the Cricut brand vinyl which is Oracel 631, an indoor rated vinyl. Although it's rated for indoors, it holds up really well outdoors. I have some vinyl decals on my car that I put up a year ago June and they look just the same, through rain, car washes, heat, snow, etc.
Also, on the cups, I have used my cups in the dishwasher for YEARS and they still look good. Just make sure to get the bubbles out...
2) What settings do I use to cut vinyl?
Blade at 3, pressure at 3, speed at 3 (all 3's)
3) Do I need the deep cut blade?
No. But use a fresh blade, if you can.
4) Where do you get transfer tape?
I use the Cricut brand and it's sold next to the Cricut vinyl at Joann's, etc.

But as always thanks for your videos...and I again want to request an Artbooking, CTMH Art Philo and and the CCR in a Artbooking for Dummies..you know those books:) that's my request...you make it look easy but I need slow step by step vids...but that's just me.
