Here's a layout for the athletes in the crowd (or moms of athletes...). This layout was put together using the Close to My Heart Artbooking Cricut cartridge using a variety of sporty elements.
I cut the elements above at 11", as specified in the Artbooking handbook. I meant to point the arrow to the large overlay background, not the small one - so take note of that.
The photo frames were also cut at 11".
The important thing to remember about this cartridge is that making layouts is a cinch because everything is sized proportionally to make the layout. So, you set the dial once at the size listed to get the layouts shown in the upper left corner.
Don't forget you can mix and match various elements of the layouts, as I have done on this one.

Now my daughter is cutting vinyl for her hubby's vehicle... he has a small construction company and just recently got a new vehicle...She went to work in the CCR with all the fonts and has been having a blast designing his logo and signage. ReplyDeleteI have used vinyl to make the glitter ornaments for the kids in my family. They really turned out beautifully and were so easy. I also used vinyl to make a flag but that wasnt so successful. The first time it rained, the letters just fell off. I need to try it again with outdoor vinyl

When I cut the overlay at 11" it cut out at 11 x 6 inches not 11 x 11 as shown on the video. Now what do I do?

Awesome scrapbook page! It is perfect for a picture of my granddaughter playing soccer! TFS! I haven't cut anything recently but have plans to do several glass blocks for a craft fair coming up! I also want to try doing a plate like you did for giving cookies away during the upcoming holidays!

I love my cricut and use it to cut things for my daughters. One is a teacher and loves that I can cut all her bulletin board letters for her. Of course we all get together to scrapbook and use the cricut to embelish our pages.

My friend and I have done plastic buckets with shovels for summer camping trips, aluminum water bottles from the Dollar Store for the softball teams and team names in frames for all the players to sign for the coaches. We also cut contact paper and put on glass and then etch with the etching cream, transferring with the clear contact paper. So many things you can do with vinyl! I would love to win the Friend cartridge!!

ReplyDeleteAs for cutting vinyl - I have cut several projects using the vinyl and absolutely love it. I've even updated my mailbox using vinyl cuts and it's held up far better than paint or the numbers/letters you buy at Walmart.
I love the frames! No, I've never cut vinyl in my Cricut before. I like hearing about other people doing fun things with their machines, but I've so far only stuck to paper!

Nice layout Joy! I love to use vinyl with my cricut. I make all kinds of labels for the school hallway and they are so easy to remove at the end of the year without having to do a bunch of scraping like I did with tape.
