[Video]Close to My Heart CTMH Artbooking Teacher Gift Bag

School has started here in Texas!  So, it felt appropriate that today's quick Close to My Heart Artbooking Cricut project is this fun teacher gift bag!
Using the real dial size button, I cut all the elements for the bag - see the sizing above.  Interestingly enough, even though the apple is layered and usually those don't cut well using real dial size, this one did.  I think it's because the layers were exactly the same height so it worked out.
Do you like to make gift bags?  Once you start making them, you will find that they are a ton of fun!  And very economical as you can get the base gift bags in a big pack from Michaels or Joanns with a 40% off coupon.  Multi-packs of the bags come in 5"x8" and 8"x10", in kraft, cream and white colors.

I used the Close to My Heart Artbooking cartridge bundle which you can get HERE:

  1. Love the bag. I've never been to a scrapbooking anything. No one I know is into paper crafting so I do everything alone. There was a CKC in Houston in June and I would have loved to go. Then I realized my son was coming in from Florida that weekend so I missed out. That's the closest I've ever come to this kind of event.

  19. I must say I've never "made" gift bags except to cut "Happy Birthday" or "Merry Christmas" to put on them. Yours are adorable. May have to try that sometime.

  22. I've been to three Paper Trey Ink Stamp Affaire events--one in Cincinnati held by PTI and two in the home of event hosts. Also when our parents passed away, they left us their house in Louisiana and we frequently go there for weekend clean ups but we reserve at least two days for nothing but crafting and playing with paper. It's so much fun! I know you are going to really enjoy yours... can't wait to hear all about it!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yes I have been going on one a year for the past five years. It's so wonderful to leave my stuff out and ready to work on (I have no dedicated space at home). It's also been the most fun to get that time to stay connected with friends! We stay up late, laugh a lot, and eat good (bad for you) food. I look forward to it every year. Hope you have fun on yours!

  48. What a darling gift bag! Even though I've seen dozens of videos and projects that involved gift bags, I have never actually made one myself. I guess I don't think of it "in the moment". But this one is so cute and I love this cartridge, so perhaps the answer is to make the gift bags up ahead of time so they are on hand when I need them. Thanks so much Joy. I love your creativity!

  98. Love this bag! I have been on many scrapbook retreats. Just went to a three day one last weekend that was so fun. I have another 3 day retreat at the end of Sept. I find I get so much done at these because it is nonstop cropping for three days and you can leave all your stuff out in the room for the entire time.

  99. Attended a scrapbooking retreat just this past weekend. Wonderful time with three of my besties, we snuck out to spend a couple of hours on the lake in sailboat belonging to one of them. Scrapbooking retreats are therapeutic to me. I have a relatively stressful job and life, and getting away from it all (even if it's only 60 miles) keeps me sane. We scrap, giggle, laugh right out loud and give and take advice on our pages. I do much better work when I am together with my friends. "on your mark, get set- CRICUT!" a quote from one of the hubbies who well, just doesn't quite get it! LOL

  100. I have never been to a retreat but my first one is in October. I have only been to a handful of day crops and have trouble with what to bring so a weekend might be more than I can handle. LOL.

Love the bag! It is so nice when you can personalize a bag to someone. Thanks for the chance.

  104. I attended a scrapbooking retreat years ago. It was at a hotel; I certainly didn't get enough sleep IMO, so that's something I'd probably do differently b/c I didn't enjoy the retreat as much as I could have: my mind wasn't clear and alert enough to be creative.
