Let's take a look at how to make this elegant gift bag:
I cut the elegant overlay shown above at 9-1/2" using the real dial size button. My gift bag is about 8"x10" so this was the closest appropriate size.
Again, the real dial size button is our friend! Here is where to find the real dial size button on the cartridge overlay:
And here it is on the Cricut Craft Room:
Next, I cut the elegant "Celebrate" at 1-1/4" using the real dial size button. Two cuts - one quick bag!

ReplyDeleteI have a container full of store bought gift bags that I touch up a bit but have never made my
ReplyDeleteown gift bag. Yours looks great and you make it look so easy. Guess I will have to try it myself.
Yes, I have made gift bags, I love them! Yours is so pretty with the elegant overlay, and the matching tissue! Love it. I've got to try the real size button on overlays, hadn't thought of that!!! Thanks for your tips, you rock!
ReplyDeleteI make gift bags for my Girl Scouts every time we have an award ceremony. I don't know if they even pay attention to them, but it makes me feel good to make the presentations when they are in pretty bags.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bag! I've made a few gift bags, but I should really do it more often. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful gift bag! Love the elegant design! I like to use the Tombow multi-purpose glue as it stays wet longer to give you time to shift things if you need to and dries clear. But it also looked like you could get one of those smaller glue runners in there too if you had one. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove the gift bag !! I will need to try this
ReplyDeleteWow! I have made gift bags but mine have never been as elegant as yours is today! It is beautiful! Can't wait to see more of the new cartridge!!
ReplyDeleteYour gift bags are gorgeous - especially this one. I haven't tried making any yet, but would like to.

Very lovely bag Joy. Looking forward to getting this cartridge. I usually buy a plain solid color bag and then embellish it.
ReplyDeleteI have once or twice, but usually don't plan ahead enough to to do; I'm scrambling around last minute looking for a gift bag or wrapping.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your cute gift bag tutorial. I make and use gift bags more than I wrap gifts these days.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made gift bags before but seeing how easy you make it look, I think I'll need to start making them. Your gift bag was gorgeous, love the colors you used.
ReplyDeleteLeslie

Such a pretty bag! Love the colors and designs! I do not make my own bags.
ReplyDeleteI do not make my own bags, I buy them at the dollar store. The one you made is so cute and easy, I might just start making my own.
ReplyDeleteI have made some gift bags, I got inspired by one of your other videos. I use my Xyron 9 inch machine. Works every time.
ReplyDeleteLovely gift bag.
ReplyDeletePretty bag!! Usually I buy my gift bags
ReplyDeleteI've made gift boxes but not gift bags. At least not yet.
ReplyDeleteI've decorated gift bags for birthdays and holidays but definitely need to do it more. They can get expensive at the stores :)
ReplyDeleteJoy,
ReplyDeleteLoved the tutorial. I do make gift bags, buy plain bags at the dollar store, then dress them up.
I wish I could afford these. Guess I'll have to substitute with a comparable cart.
ReplyDeleteSo cute, I haven't made any gift bags, but I should! Carri~Abusybee
ReplyDeleteI do make gift bags, but usuaully with rollerstamps. I want to try this- I have this cart. You have inspired me- this looked simple. It really helps to have the dimensions. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love to make personalised gift bags with matching tags. Easy to do & the recipient knows you put a little extra love into their gift.
ReplyDeleteI also love to make personalized gift bags. I make a card to match and like to make big flowers instead of using bows on some. Giving a personalized gift bag is part of the gift, an added something special.
ReplyDeleteI have made or embellished gift bags from time to time. I have a large stash from finding good deals on bags, so I am not always inclined to make one. I nearly always make my own cards, though. Love the bag you made.
ReplyDeleteI shall definitely try out your ideas for decorating a gift bag!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great instructions!
