Here is the cut:
I had to manipulate one of the cuts to make the pink layer. For that, I used the Cricut Craft Room (free online program) and the "Hide Selected Contour" feature to create the pink layer below:
Click HERE to see a video on how to "hide selected contour" in the Cricut Craft Room.
Here are the products I used to make the card:
I have a little quick talk about adhesives in the video so you may want to check it out.To see how to make this card, check out the video below (Click HERE if you can't see the video):

First time ever coming to your blog. And I immediately signed up for your emails. I just want to say I like way you did your tutorial. Did you record it and then go back and commentate on it? It really sped it up, and as a viewer I wasn't frustrated watching every second of every step. You have a fun outlook, I love that you laughed. AND cute card!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I do a lot of editing. I try not to have any videos longer than 5 minutes unless it's very involved and I do a lot of speeding up. Then I voice over the whole thing.
DeleteI've got 3 Valentine cards made and on my 4th one. I start early making cards since I have quite a few to make. Love your card that you made!
ReplyDeleteI'm making Valentines but not finished. Like the overlay and will have to give it a try.

Believe it or not, I've never been a big fan of Valentine's Day. I did it for the kids when they were little, but the real joy for us is our anniversary on the 20th of February. I can translate a lot of the Valentine's into Anniversary cards with slight changes. Thank you for the opportunity to win this fantastic cartridge, Joy!
ReplyDeleteHaven't started yet. Just trying to get past the many birthdays between Christmas and Valentine's Day. Like the overlay. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made any Valentine's cards. I actually haven't made any cards yet. Might have to think about this as a project in my son's girlfriend's little girl comes to spend some more time with us. She is about 3. If I had everything ready for her, I bet she would have fun putting a card together and "drawing" in it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I haven't yet but I hope to get started this week.
ReplyDeleteVeronica
I haven't even started thinking about Valentine's day cards! YIKES!!! big hugs~~Patty

Your Valentine card is adorable, but sadly, I haven't started any myself. :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card.
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, I really like the hide selected contour but had never thought of using it like that. Thanks so much for the idea. I haven't even started my Valentine's stuff, guess I need to get on that. I really love the cartridge in the giveaway, thanks so much for the chance to win it.
ReplyDeleteGreat card. I've started my Valentines, but need to get busy finishing them. I've been scrapbooking instead.
ReplyDeleteI'm planning on starting this weekend. Love the card!
ReplyDeleteI love stopping by your blog. Someday I'm going to open the Artbooking kit that's been sitting here for a while, like forever. Your videos are a delight. TFS all your talents.
ReplyDeleteUsing the CCR that way was really clever! I'm going to have to try that out.
ReplyDeleteLove this card... love Cricut... I don't have ANY of the CTMH cartridges yet, or any others besides the two that came with my Cricut. I'm so hoping to win something! I love that you have give-aways and maybe one day I'll win one! Love your blog and all of your tutorials and videos. Marilyn
ReplyDeleteI love this overlay! Every time I think I have seen everything in the Artbooking cartridge, you show us another idea and I don't remember seeing it before! Thanks so much. (FYI- don't know what happened, but I could not click on any part of your email and get to your site this time.)
ReplyDeleteI totally haven't even started my Valentines cards yet... Your valentine card however is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
ReplyDeleteI'm almost done with Valentines! Yay! Thanks for the chance to win "Garden Soup"!!
ReplyDeleteDone with Valentines cards early! Now I just have to remember to post them. Garden Soup would be great to win.
ReplyDeleteI only make one - for my hubby - but his birthday is tomorrow (the 1st) and I still have to finish that card!
ReplyDeleteGrat looking card.
ReplyDeleteI only made a 52 reasons I love you deck of cards for my husband...haven't start the rest as yet! Your 3 minute card video just inspired me to make a bunch...thanks as always for being in my craft room!
ReplyDeleteI love you ideas. thanks for sharing and thanks for a chance to win a new cricut cartridge
ReplyDeleteI love your ideas. I have 17 cartridges and would love one the garden giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI have done Valentine's treats for both of my youngest grankids' classes. I will be doing cards to send with a few $$ for the two in college. Still have DH card to make. I used "hide contour" in CCR just the other day...it's a lot easier than the "hide contour" in DS. I don't say that lightly because I use DS almost exclusively! I really like the card on this post and may try to make this card cos it's so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh BTW I saw the cute Owl you did on one of your valentine cards from the Artbooking cartridge and liked it so much that I did the same owl (in shades of pink) for the treat packs for my granddaughter's class!
Love your bonus card and I plan to make one or more like, or similar to, it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made any Valentine's cards this year, yet, but will be making some for my son to choose for giving to
his lovely wife. I've decided that this year when I see cards I like I shall make them up and then have a stash for my son, or even for the occasional card I might send/give, but especially for my son.
He is very much in love with his wife and she with him. He asks me from time-to-time to make a card for him to give to her. Is that sweet or what? He always wants the inside empty so he can write his own feelings inside.
A tip for some of your readers -- I made a couple dozen different cards for various occasions and put them in a cigar box that I had decorated with lovely papers and embellishments and gave it to my daughter-in-law to-be at a fun Wedding Shower for her 1 1/2 yrs. ago. She loves the cards so much that she refuses to send/give them to anyone -- which is sweet and OK with me. They were made for her to do with as she wishes.
I originally started the project because she asked me one day what a "Thank You" card is and why would anyone want/need to have one. She is originally from Eastern Europe and told me that the people she knows back in Moldova never sent "Thank You" cards because they always said "Thank You" in person. Sounds good to me, but that is why I made her a box full of cards including a number of Thank You cards. I'm sure there are other countries and cultures that have the same reaction to card giving/sending as she and her family did. Anyway, I really just wanted to share a great Wedding Shower (or any occasion) gift of a box of handmade cards.
