[Video]Cricut Simple Holiday Cards Joy Christmas Card

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY
to get the Close to My Heart October Stamp of the Month:
October's Stamp of the Month, Scandinavian Wishes, is just $5 after a qualifying $50 purchase!

Got to have it?  Check out the catalog below to find some fun products!

Here's a quick link to the online catalog - CLICK HERE if you want a peek.

Now, onto today's project:
This 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card was made using the Cricut Simple Holiday Cards cartridge (see below):
This is one of the new Cricut cartridges that uses a Universal Overlay:
Take a look at the handbook photo below.  It references numbers that correspond with the Universal Overlay shown above.
So, for instance, the "Joy to All" card that I cut is on key 44.  I cut the card itself using key 44 and then the back layer (pink piece in above picture) by pressing F1, then key 44.  I dialed in the size of 5-1/2" which was specified in the red oval.
This cartridge also has envelopes for each card.  They told you in the handbook which envelope to cut.  So, for our "Joy to All" card, I will cut the envelope on key 49.

Here is the inside of my card, stamped with the Close to My Heart Scandinavian Wishes, October Stamp of the Month:
Check out the video below to see how I made this card (click HERE if you can't see the video):

Did you know that there is a new Close to My Heart mini catalog called Holidays from the Heart, valid from Oct 15- Dec 31, 2013?

And a fabulous new promo to go with it! (see below):
These items above all have a star in the Holiday Guide, reminding you that they are part of the promo.  Of course, these are also available for purchase (wink).

The $100 must be spent on full retail priced products so "while supplies last" and discounted stamp of the month products do not count towards that total (SORRY!).

When you place your order HERE, the system will prompt you upon checkout to pick out your free/star item(s)!  Wait until the system prompts you and then click on their link to add your items.

The star items shown above can be found HERE under the "Holidays From the Heart Gift Guide 2013" tab on the left hand column down at the bottom.

You can also download a PDF of the catalog HERE.

Or I can send you one - just email me at joyster110@gmail.com with your address and I'll send one right out to you!

  9. Cute card. Yes, I have seen the cartridge and since I make all my cards, I am
hoping to save enough to get it. So far, been using the money for birthdays and
    Christmas presents and not me.

  16. I have not seen this one but I like what you made. I have had issues in the past with the intricate cuts. I'll try slowing my machine down even more to see if that helps.

  19. Hi Joy! I love this cut from the Simple Holiday Cards Cartridge. I check out all the new carts on Cricut website. I think that for simple candy bags or cards for my childrens friends, this cartridge would be especially great. I do candy bags for every season for my children and they can get pretty intricate. That is a lot of work for three homeroom classes.

    Thank you for sharing!

  25. I have only seen this cartridge online. I'd give it a thumbs up for making a card maker's life easier! Not sure I would use it a lot because I make mostly birthday, get well, and sympathy cards. It would be fun to have, though.

  35. Love the card! When I first saw this cartridge, I thought I didn't need that, because I design most of of my cards. But - after seeing this video - I might have to run out and pick it up. (I wish you well!)

  36. Hi, I haven't been to any craft store in about month in 1/2 for I have been sick. I have only seen these new cartridges online and I'm still not sure if I going to like them. But I'm very happy that you did a video on these new cartridges, plus showing us what the booklet look like on the inside and showing us
the the layover. And I was glad that you show how it all work together but I still wonder how they will work on the Cricut Imagine machine. But for all you show on the video and how it works. I really
like the adorable card that you made by using one of the new Cricut cartridge. Thank you for sharing this great video on how these new cartridges work and plus making a cute card from it.
    Happy Halloween :-)

  37. I have seen this cart before and I give it a thumbs up for providing simple designs that a person can use for a quick card (if you're someone who likes intricate or more creative cards, I think this one might get a thumbs down).

  38. I just got this cartridge and was having a tough time figuring out which envelope went with which card. I googled "Cricut Simple Holiday Cards Envelope" and your blog site was one of the responses. Now I get your emails and follow your blog but did not remember this subject. Anyway, your post mentions and even shows the page that indicates which cards go with the envelopes. Looked through my little booklet 3 times and realized that my booklet did not have this page. Printed it off and put it in my booklet for future reference. Thank you so much for your wonderfully detailed post which helped solve this problem!
