There are two ways:
1) Cut out the overlay multiple times in all the colors you want to have on your overlay and behind your overlay. SAVE all the negative bits and pieces for each color as you will be using those to piece into the overlay itself using tweezers, a glue pen and lots of patience.
2) Use the Cricut Craft Room and the "hide select contour" feature to quickly create different colored backgrounds that will show through the overlay. It takes very little time to make it this way - no piecing teeny bits.
Below I have a video showing you how to use the Cricut Craft Room to make the different colored sections.
And I also have download links for the file used to make this card.
I used the Close to My Heart Artbooking cartridge (see below):

Either way, I always learn and am inspired by your videos!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Yes a video showing it would be great. Thanks,.
ReplyDeleteI don't I could categorize your cards into any ONE word...you make so many different kinds including babies, masculine, flowers, without flowers, striped, checkered....get the point... I think you are just showing us all the different things you can do...the rest is up to our own imaginations. I am just thankful you take the time to make so many different kinds I will take whatever I can get...I still need to find the slow dummies 101 versio for everything as you make it look so simple then when I try....pfffft it's a cluster mess and I leave my newly 1200 sq foot craft from looking like a tornado hit it with no card :( thanks for all you do Super Joy
