  • Works with any computer PC or MAC with a standard wireless or wired Internet connection.
  • Simply plug it in, turn it on, connect to Cricut Craft Room – the online design tool where you can see and design with every Cricut cartridge – and start making projects..
  • Cuts up to 8.5” x 12” paper and other materials. Cut small shapes and fonts from ¼” to larger cuts up to 11½”!

Provocraft announced this new machine yesterday at the Craft and Hobby Association trade show.  I can't wait to check it out!

Cricut Mini will be priced at $119 MSRP and is compatible with Cricut Craft Room and/or the Gypsy.  It needs to be hooked up to either of those to work.

Here's a video by the Craft Critique site (click HERE if not able to see):

Craft Critique has a very thorough article about the Cricut Mini that you can read by clicking HERE.

Also, Craft Critique is covering the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) show and they have tons of fun pictures and articles.  Lots of great eye candy!

If you want to see TONS of photos from CHA, check out Christine Urias' photos HERE!  Christine runs the site Scrap Time and also has a huge podcast show on iTunes.  She is fabulous and has some great write ups on her site Scrap Time.

They are doing tons of make 'n takes and classes at CHA with the Cricut using the new project and event cartridges, as well as one of my favorites, Sentimentals.  My favorites of the new project cartridges are the Flower Shoppe, Frames and Sweet Tooth Boxes - check out some of those projects I've made using them:

Cricut Mini Monsters Card and Cartridge Giveaway!!

The Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge has a card feature and I thought this frog was just perfect to make into a card!  I cut him at 4" (all layers, including the shadow).  Notice that the shadow is a fatter shadow than we sometimes see on cartridges.  This is true for all the images on the cart.

I used patterned paper for the base and also ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Spots and Dots folder on just the leg sections.  I decorated the front with various buttons.  If you didn't use buttons, there are holes there where another layer shows through.

What's great about this cartridge is that the actual base image and layers fit exactly onto the card front at the same size, unlike cartridges in the past.  WOO HOO!

Here's a shot of the inside portion.

CONTEST CLOSED!!

Now, onto the previews:

Cricut Toy Story:

I cut Buzz, the word art and the ball, all from Toy Story.  The journaling/talk bubble is from Plantin Schoolbook.  Paper is Core'dinations cardstock.

Cricut Cindy Loo:

I cut the layered font, the scalloped circles behind each letter,  and the background swirled medallion section (3 layers and I didn't use the shadow section, which would have been 4 - no room!).  Paper is from Anna Griffin and DCWV glitter paper (white letters).  Journaling block in bottom right corner is from Anna Griffin also.

Cricut Freshly Picked:

I cut the gazebo, four flowers with pots and "mama's garden" sign from this cartridge.  Paper is from Core'dinations and DSWV (background paper).

Cricut Mini-Monsters:

The witch, broom, "wicked" word art, cat and cauldron were all cut from this cartridge.  The paper is a Halloween stack from K & Company.

Cricut Wall Decor and More:

Sorry for the poor picture quality - tough corner to photograph!  This layered vinyl "Bon Appetit" was cut from Wall Decor and More.   It was cut at 4-3/4" and cut out at 23" long.  I stacked the images on top of one another.  A tip with this cart when trying to figure out how big to cut something is to use the "fit to length" button set at 23" on the size dial (for a sheet of vinyl 12" x 24").  BUT, when you do this, be sure and start with the shadowed layer section and take note of the height that will flash onto the screen.  Then cut the base layer at this height you noted.

If you want to see more info on how to layer vinyl, click HERE or watch the video below.

P.S. I'll be featuring more projects using these cartridges over the next several days so be sure and check back.  There will be more giveaways to come so keep checking!
