Today's card uses the Close to My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge and the Cuttlebug to create a "knitted" mitten look.
Using the Cuttlebug Fabric Swatches set (click HERE to see more about this set), I was able to create a "knitted" look to the mittens. Take a closer look below:
I used the cut below from the Close to My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge and the Holiday Tags stamp set to make the sentiment.

ReplyDeleteBut it will be this weekend between 2 soccer games and a Knotts Berry Farm trio! Thanks for the project ideas using the artiste cart (I just ordered it in time).
I put my Christmas tree up before I left to go to visit my family for Thanksgiving... I ran to the store and when I came home one of my dogs decided to chew the Christmas tree light cord... So I ended up putting my tree up twice this year... PS I still Love my dogs!
ReplyDeleteReally nice card and the embossing is such a special touch. Yes my tree is up. I put it up over the weekend and love how it gets me in the mood. I have a cat under the tree now and know exactly what happens with costs around. But we do love having them around!
ReplyDeleteThis is super cute! My tree is in the house but not decorated. LOL I am hoping to decorate it this weekend!
ReplyDeleteCute card! I love the embossed mittens. TFS
ReplyDeleteMy tree is going up this weekend.
Your card is so cute! I have not put up my tree yet. I hope we will soon.

ReplyDeleteYes, I have 2 trees up, finally! I loved your cute card with the embossed mittens! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteVery cute love your videos so helpful, embossing the mittens was so smart they came out to cute.
ReplyDeleteLove the mitten card. Don't have my tree up yet, but plan to accomplish that this weekend. Christmas is coming SO fast!
ReplyDeleteLike the mittens; especially the embossing for the knit look. My tree is up. Hubby had put up our tree and then Sun morn we went to Michaels and bought a new 7 1/2 ft pre-lit Conway tree that can have the lights clear, multi or alternate. We have it alternate. Our former tree which we are donating is a 7 1/2 ft pre-lit clear light tree. I like the multi-color and choice to have it alternate from clear to multi-light.

Adorable mitten card--love the texture.
ReplyDeleteNo tree up yet.
No tree this year, Mom's on hospice care, and just don't feel like it. Need to refresh my spirit, I think I'll go camping for Christmas, just get away, yes, that sounds heavenly. God Bless you all.
ReplyDeleteI am doing Christmas this weekend, as well as plastic wrapping my windows. Looking forward to Christmas, the plastic wrap not so much.
ReplyDeleteNo tree up yet... just not in the mood yet, though have been working on Christmas cards and things for my Etsy shop.... hopefully this weekend. Love this stamp set.. is so pretty.. would love to win it. Love your blog.. it amazes me every time I get one of your posts... I know how much work goes into a post with so many pictures and instructions, etc............. love your videos and tutorials, and love those mittens!
ReplyDeleteBoth trees are up and decorated; gifts purchased and ready to wrap. Baking and wrapping till after church is decorated and Christmas programs practiced and ready to present to family and friends
ReplyDeleteNo tree, yet. I, too, have cats and I'm not in any hurry to have them eat the fake needles, the tinsel and whatever else and then throw it up! Oh, and dangling ornaments are too much of a temptation to them.
ReplyDeleteCute card, I am loving that stamp set Joy. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWe put our tree up Nov. 20th YAY and decorated our home...I just love it. Your card is just as cute as can be love how you did the mittens. Great job Joy!! YOU so ROCK!!

Cute card Joy, I love the candy cane stripes. Because we have a new puppy who is still a little on the wild side I'm not taking any chances and am not putting up a tree. I can easily picture chewed up ornaments or having the whole tree knocked over. I'll have to put one up extra early next year to make up for it.
ReplyDeleteMy tree is up already, but not fully decorated. It will be finished this weekend. Thanks for the chance to win.

My tree isn't up because I am way too busy making Christmas cards. My favorite card to make all year. I can see so many possibilities with this beautiful set. Please make my day and pick me. Can't wait to make the mitten card. I love your videos. They are so helpful.
ReplyDeleteVery cute card! Yes my tree is up, I put it up before Thanksgiving but don't turn it on until Thanksgiving evening.

Very cute card, Joy!
ReplyDeleteNo, our tree isn't up yet, but we're going to get our tree on Monday. Yes, we do a live tree. How clever embossing the mittens.
ReplyDeleteLove your knitted mittens! Soooooo cute! Have the smaller kitchen tree up with gingerbread ornaments, but the big tree is up, waiting for decorations.
ReplyDeletethe mittens do look like knitting and that folder really did a good job. This is an adorable card and I love the way you added those extra colors and glitter paper to break up the long space your put your little mittens on. It helped to balance out the composition and add depth and texture to the card base. It also helped to support the paper holding the little mittens. I kept your eye moving and broke up the long shape and added an opportunity for adding more colors and contrast. Very clever of you. I have to remember that so I can use it too LOL
