Cricut Spring Cottage 3-D Strawberries and Basket

Today's fun 3-D gift basket with strawberries was made using the new Cricut Spring Cottage cartridge.  This is a seasonal cartridge that retails for $24.99 and can be purchased HERE.  Take a look at some of the goodies on this cartridge:
As soon as I saw this strawberry and basket, I knew it would be a fun project to make.  I figured I could fill the strawberries with candy - I used Starburst candies. I cut two strawberries at 4" and one at 3.5".
After cutting them out and scoring them, I used a White Sanford Uni-Ball Gel Pen
to add faux stitching.  This is the best pen on the market for this use.
I bent up the strawberry along the score lines.  The strawberry has teeny score marks in it so you can see where to score a line.  They are not obtrusive, like they have been in the past.
Using my ATG gun, I glued along the edge that will be tucked in.  You could also use a glue dot here.
Here is the strawberry folded up.
I added my Starburst candies to the inside - my large flower held 3 and the smaller one 2.
I threaded the green and white striped twine through the holes on the top of the strawberry.  Start by putting the twine into the strawberry and then you will end up with two tails out.
Pull tightly and knot.
Then add green topper by threading twine through top - knot again.
I made the basket by cutting it at "fit to page" or the largest it would go on a 12x12 mat which was 9-1/4". I folded over the edges and adhered the basket together, after adding faux stitching.
My sentiment background is the Fancy Frame die and stamp combo from My Creative Time ($9.99)- so cute!  It can be ordered HERE. Take a look below:
The "You're Sweet" is from a retired Close to My Heart set. The gems and ribbon are from Michaels.

  33. That's one cartridge I don't have! I haven't ventured very far into making treat boxes. I have bought cheap boxes and made elaborate tags to adorn them for favors. I did make darling bunny with Easter baskets for our dinner table after a demo at Archivers (may it rest in peace) last year, and everyone was delighted. Thanks for your inspiration! Love how neat your faux stitching is!

  41. Hi, Joy. I really like the 3D strawberries in a basket and how you can actually open up the strawberry where you can add candy or a note. But after watching you make one. I think I can make one or give it chance or too. Thank you for sharing. :-)

  45. This basket is something that I would love to try to make. I have been trying to make new things each time I get a new cartridge and use it to its full potential. I like the idea that the baby cartridge could be used for so many things and not only babies but for children of many ages. I do card making, scrapbooking and decorating and this would come in so handy.

  49. Love the strawberries and Basket. When I first got my gypsy I had seen a pic of the strawberry tutorial cutout. I didn't want to ruin the book so I created my own file of the strawberry. It was cute, and put it together, it came out a little crooked. Oh well I tried, lol lol

  50. I do make them (and I've always loved this cart even though I couldn't justify it to my budget; the strawberries alone are the reason I wanted this cart). I love the look on people's faces when they look at the gift I've made and then turn to me and say, "Did you make this?" and when I nod, they reply, "Wow." Oooohh that feels good!
