I also go through shadowing a welded image and laying out your mat with different colors. And how to make the card above - some people have commented that they like seeing a project with the cuts. Finally, I have some brief footage of the machine running, for those who want to hear it. Snowbelle makes brief cameo too!
Check out the video below (CLICK HERE if you can't see the video):
P.S. For those of you worried that I won't be showing the Cricut Craft Room and projects with the Expression, don't worry! We'll be back to those shortly. I'm just trying to cover this stuff before the machines ship out.

Cute card? Can you not put more than one item on the mat on the screen so that you only have to hit cut once? It seems like you should be able to do that. If it is possible, I'd love to see how it's done in a video. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I would love to see how you do a layered cut with several colors on one mat! I love your tutorials. I feel like when my Explore ships next week I can plug it in and get to welding and shadowing :)
DeleteAnother great clear video with a "Cameo" shot of your cat! Even though I don't have the Explore coming (still not sure), I enjoy your little tricks and tips and the pretty card outcome!
ReplyDeleteI will be working on some GK lay outs this weekend since I have 4 of them and I am soooooo far behind!
Curious how the new Explore will lay out a page using the First Few Years Cartridge?
Have a wonderful week end .
Creative Wishes
Thanks for the great video! I do have plans for the weekend.......celebrating my son's and husband's birthdays plus spending time with my favorite little guy, Maddix.

Hello Joy,
ReplyDeleteI am glad to know that you will be showing the craftroom And the cricut expression again. I did not get the Explore yet just trying to learn the craft room and all it has to offer. I dot not have enough at craft space for another machine may be one day.
Thanks for all of the great videos.
Luria
Like to learn about layers.

I don't know if you're also a Silhouette user, but I'm curious how easy its going to be if I wanted to transfer my whole silhouette library over, also wondering if there is a way to try to design space before buying the new cricut. I haven't seen anything about that yet. Thank you for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the videos!
ReplyDeleteJoy, I am LOVING all of your videos! Please keep them coming. I would like to see how to cut an imported image or picture (not SVG). Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great and informative video! Thank you so much! My Explore will be on it's way soon so I am so loving everything that you are showing. I would also be interested in if you can score with any of the CTMH carts that have cards, boxes etc.? Also to write and cut when it isn't an image already set up that way how does that work? I am sure I have many more questions but that is it for now. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI want to know everything. I am trying to get a good understanding of it. I just hope I can find all your videos when I finally buy one. Edwina Brown
ReplyDeleteI appreciate all your tips and hints on the Explore and I'm sure that everyone else does too! I don't plan to getting one though, but you never know!
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to see what all this machine can do. Maybe someday I will get one but for now my cricut expression will do.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I learn at a lot from you. Keep up tha wonderful job.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Joy, I love your videos. So helpful. Thank you so much.

I would love to see how your own fonts work that are on your computer and then they cut out which still baffles me I'm still in awe of how this all works also do you use your Explore using WIFI? because this is how i'll be wanting to use mine. Love your videos.
ReplyDeleteI am even more anxious to mine to arrive. :-) This is not specifically about the Explore; I still want to be able to use CCR and my Expression/Imagine. Do both CCR and Design Space play nice on the same computer? If I link a cartridge in CCR will it automatically link in Design Space or vice versa? Thanks for helping us get a jump start on using the Explore and Design Space right out of the box.
ReplyDeletelayers layers layers please Joy!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see you create something with chipboard with the Cricut Explore. You don't see many things on it. Have a great day, Joy!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the great video, Joy. Slightly disappointed that there's not an offset button, but, as you say, it may come! TFS Christine
ReplyDeleteThank you for the video. It is nice to see the machine in operation.
ReplyDeleteStill trying to decide if I need the explorer so thank you for your videos. They are answering some questions. Still on the fence as I really do not do home decor just cards and scrapbooks.
ReplyDeleteI just love all your videos. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI love all of your projects and videos. You explain everything so well. Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see how the blades compare and if the new ones can be used with the older machines. Provo Craft will not answer this question for me.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI would like to see how to layer show on the mat when you pick a design.
I love the videos you have put together! They are very informative, and I will be referring to them often once I get my Cricut Explore! Thank you for all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the videos! I can't wait until I get my Explore! I'm sure I'll have more questions then!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate all these exploe videos and look forward to getting mine. Can you show how to link a cartridge? I am also interested in seeing more layers and a little confused about when you put two pieces of paper on one mat. Can I measure it for me? I am wondering about the size. Sure I will have more questions later. I am also wondering about wifi.
ReplyDeleteSo excited to see the videos about the Explorer. I've been saving my money for it, but really want to see the comments from others that bought it and have tried it. I have 4 other Cricuts so I'm really hoping that they aren't going to discontinue the Cricut Craft Room so we can still use it with the older machines. Looks like a great machine-thanks for showing it to us. I want to make lots of layers and welded titles.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for the video and thanks especially for showing how you cut on one mat! Although I agree with previous posters...seems a bit redundant to have to keep hitting cut...once you have the mats all "layered out", can you move the cuts from one mat to another so you only have to hit cut once?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy for another great video. As a self descrIbed non-techi, thanks to your videos, I am gradually catching on to how the new Explore works. Wondering how I can use my extensive collection of cartridges in the Explore.
Such a cute card, and I love your furry "helper", too! Thank you for showing us the tricks of the new machine. Maybe, one will be in my future. BethAnn M.
ReplyDeleteI've learned so much from your videos and look forward to the new machine info!! Thanks for the chance to win a cart I have been wishing for!!
ReplyDeleteYour videos are so helpful..After watching them I want the Explore and am sorry I did not order it when HSN had it on. I would like to know how you link cartridges that you have to the Explorer. Thank you again for all the great ideas and help. Jill P., Manteca, CA .
ReplyDeleteHow can I get the new Explore? Would love to win this cartridge.
ReplyDeleteCan you use this software with the Cricut Imagine and if so I would love to see a video.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the tips love the welding tools.
Very pretty card and great video. More step by step videos are good for me as I am not a techie person.
ReplyDeleteYou can video it being delivered to my house. Argh! I can hardly wait to get mine! Once I get it and start to play, questions will arise! Alot of them!!! lol The one thing I know I don't know much about is using all the different SVG files and such! Saving, importing, using, etc...
ReplyDeleteThank you for the videos. I am all new to SVG files, etc. so any how to info is appreciated. Excited about getting the new Cricut Explore.
ReplyDeleteForgot to put my info - Penny Mourer pennym@embarqmail.com
DeleteWhen you cut all the layers on one mat just using different colored papers. Thats what i'm confused about!
ReplyDeleteGreat card.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see 3 things:
ReplyDelete(1) the upload and cut your own design feature.
(2) cut any font on your computer feature. I have a few Word ones I would love to use...unless they mean any PS fonts, but I have plenty of those I'd like try too.
(3) upload and cut a jpg or a svg
Cute card as always--thanks! I would love to see how you can use the fonts from your computer, and then weld them and maybe make a shadow for the welded words in the Design Space. Is all that possible with the Explore? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteCan't think of anything specific I would like to see on the Explore, looks like others have made some good suggestions. Thanks for your blog and your giveaways!
ReplyDeleteI think the Explore just passed me technically speaking....It looks wonderful, but this aging brain might not be able to keep up with it.
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful features on Explore. Would it be worth the investment without the monthly membership? And if used just for Scrapbooking and cards...not all the home decor and other projects? Glad to hear you will still feature CCR and Expression since the Explore is not in my immediate future. :(
ReplyDeleteSo enjoy seeing anything about the new Explore. I don't have one coming (yet) as they sold out before I got home from work I am very interested in seeing all it can do as I plan to upgrade to one in the future. I am really loving the way it cuts circles and scallops. This is going to make my carmakeing so much easier.
ReplyDeleteI didnt buy one yet, Im not sure I need it :/ I want to wait for it because then maybe any quirks will be worked out. Thanks for the chance to win though.
ReplyDeleteI would love one of these eventually , once all the problems are worked out. Maybe by Black Friday! Love the Card and video. So exciting to see perfect circles and scallops!
ReplyDeleteWow! So much to learn! Thanks for no plans for an Explore in the near future, but it's always fun to see what everybody else is excited about! thanks for being a great teacher!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to get my new machine. Keep the info coming. Scrappinsherry in Maryland
ReplyDeleteHi, I like learning how to work on the cricut machine and how to weld and make a great card.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing
Delama Starling :-)
Thanks for teaching us how to weld. I don't yet have the Explore, but its still fun to learn about it. I do have the Expression, so I'll continue to watch for those tutorials also,
ReplyDeleteI love the videos! I would love to see how you use your own fonts in a design. Can you weld those also?
ReplyDeleteA couple of questions about the new explore - can you use different pens besides the cricut ones and is the pen holder a set size? also in the Design space if you don't pay the monthly fee what is actually available to you - if there is a project you want to do in the new software but you don't have the cartridge can you still do the project? Just starting out I don't have very many cartridges so I am just curious if you have to either own the cartridge or pay the monthly fee. Thank you for all you do !
ReplyDeletethanks for the coupons, now I have to find time to use them...
ReplyDeleteDawnRI
I haven't used any SVG files. I would love the chalkboard font cartridge - that is on my wish list!
ReplyDeleteWendy from MN
I have a big question…. got this machine today and i am trying to weld letters together so i can make a shadowed titled with the shadow as one cut out and the letters as another only 2 colors. i can't figure out for the life of me how to weld them together. do you know how? i don't see the letters under images just under the text box option. thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your helpful videos!!! I am new to the SVG files....I have a question....do you know if you can curve text with the Cricut explore? Like if I wanted to curve text inside a circle?
ReplyDeleteWhen you chose a project in Design Space it puts it all on separeate mats, how can I get all of my pieces cut on one mat? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm very new but the way I know is to change the color of what you want to cut out to one color so it adjusts to one mat. I'm sure there is an easier way but that's how I know how to do it for now:) lol
DeleteHi! Thanks for the awesome videos & suggestions! Quick question I am wanting to cut out a circle outline border to go around a monogram. I can get my circle on design space but want to cut out he middle section and don't know how to do it. Anyone know?? Thanks!!!!!!:)
ReplyDeleteJoy, I just received my Explore this past week and was having trouble with Design Space and getting frustrated...I've watched a couple of your instructional videos and they are so valuable ....Thank you so much for doing them...it's helped tremedously. I've signed up for your email newsletter.
ReplyDeleteCan words be arched in design space? This is crazy if not. My cameo software allows for such and more.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
