I started off planning to just make the teal and pink card but quickly decided it would be fun to do both kinds (traditional and modern/funky) and see what you guys thought!
Using the Close to My Heart Artbooking Cricut cartridge, I cut the images above. The font was used in the red/green card. What's nice about this size of card is that they fit into a business sized envelope.
For the teal/pink card, I used the font from the Close to My Heart Artiste cartridge (click HERE to buy). I liked its blocky, modern feel (sizing above). You probably don't need to use real dial size with the Artiste cartridge but for consistency, I did. No harm, no foul.
Using the geometic rings Cuttlebug folder, I embossed the background circles on the red/green card.
I have a glittering technique shown in the video below so be sure to check it out!

I love the Red and green one. I think its the colors that just pop to me and tell me its Christmas. Great Job.....
ReplyDeleteI think I prefer the traditional red and green...
ReplyDeleteJoy, I prefer the red and green card. It feels more Christmasy! Guess I am more of a traditionalist, although I have embraced the newer lime green shade in some decorations and crafts. Great giveaway this week! Thanks for all you do for us!
ReplyDeleteAwesome cards but I vote for the Red & Green one....you did a fantastic job creating them and I want to say a great big thank you for your past video on how to cut two different colors so can paper pieces since I don't do the CCR. You just always think of everything. YOU ROCK!! Thanks for the chance at for the Tim Holtz & Frightful Affair give away.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are super cute!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a red & green kinda' girl! Guess I just love the traditional colors of Christmas! I do like them paired with cream, though, for a little more vintage look. I'll have to give your color technique a try in the CCR ~ I'm pretty new at using CCR, so it may be a challenge for me!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the chance to win this awesome prize!
I like the red/green of course! Am working on some Christmas cards right now and these would be great to make!
ReplyDeleteReally like the cards. I think the teal and pink card is cute and unexpected as those two colors are not something I use a lot, especially at Christmas but I really like the change of pace. I normally decorate for Christmas in the traditional red and green because that's what I have and I a more of a tradionalist than anything. But my sister has a wonderful large tree that she decorates with different shades of pink with white every Christmas and it is outstanding.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the ideas, can't decide which one I like better but I will try the glittering technique!
ReplyDeleteI'm all for expanding the color pallet of Christmas but the pink and purple ones remind me of spring. I love doing Christmas cards all year long!!Thanks for sharing your talents.
ReplyDeleteLove how you did the cards both ways-I like the traditional colors best!
ReplyDeleteI like parts of both the layout and letters on the pink, and the colors on the traditional red and green.

I also prefer the red/green combo for Christmas, although I usually decorate in blue, white, and silver. The teal and pink would make a great card for me for another occasion - it's very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the red/green combo. I guess I'm a tradionalist at heart.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue/pink.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing projects with all the different color combinations but I always go back to red and green.
ReplyDeleteI like the pink and blue because of the glitter letters, but I think my fav is the green and red because it has polka dots and it's a bit more traditional. :) But they are both fab! :)
ReplyDeleteLauren
Cool cards! My favorite in the green and red. Guess I'm more of a traditionalist! Although, I'm fast becoming fond of blue and silver for the holidays! TFS!
ReplyDeleteI personally love the Teal and Pink! Another great color combo for Christmas is Pink and Green (varying shades). adriannebraun@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI'm a traditional kinda girl, but after seeing the teal and pink, I really like it.
ReplyDeleteI like the red/green, but maybe because I like the poca dots.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue and pink, especially in this card.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the coupons, Joy! I know i can count on finding them here when i need them!
Both are great, but I have to pick the red/green combo b/c I like the font better. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI usually like traditional colors but with this card I like the blue and pink.
ReplyDeleteI'm a traditionalist so I vote for the red and green card,
ReplyDeleteI like the red and green traditional colors best but the pink and blue is also nice.
ReplyDeleteRed and green for me! The other one would make a great baby card! Dorothy in MD
ReplyDeleteI like the red and green card. Thank you for sharing all your great ideas.
ReplyDeleteI like the red and green card.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful! I prefer the more traditional red and green card for Christmas. You make so many great cards with the artbooking cartridge. I really need to get it!
ReplyDeleteThe red & green by far. Pink & blue is cute, but red & green says "Christmas" for me.
ReplyDeleteI like the red and green one better because I love script lettering better....and the more traditional colors look better for this card as well! thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, love the red and green!
ReplyDeleteI am very much traditional when it comes to Christmas so the red and green is my favorite for sure. I can't seem to bend from the rules when it comes to Christmas decorating.

I like them BOTH...but I love doing the "non traditional" type Christmas cards, so that is my slight preference! Pretty cards!
ReplyDeleteTeresa
Great Cards...again!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is definitely the red and greenone, not only for the clors but mostly because of te font used,I like curles!

Love the cards but Christmas will always be red and green for me. Have a fun day!
ReplyDeletelove the cards. Guess I am old fashioned but I like the red and green. Although I will admit that I saw a couple of cards last week where the woman used blue and silver and it was gorgeous. Like the fonts.

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are great, but I really like the red and green one.
ReplyDeleteRed and green. The other one makes me think Easter.
ReplyDeleteEven though it is only September, I guess it is never too early to think about Christmas cards. I have to find something to make for my family ornament exchange. Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteDenise
Red and green. I guess I'm a traditional Christmas sort of person. TFS
ReplyDeleteI think I like the red/green card. It helps to say "Merry Christmas" since the only other indication on the card is the word NOEL. However, had there been a little holly with some pink berries on the pink one, I may have liked that one best as a holiday card.
ReplyDeleteTraditional red and green, I like the other card but I am a traditional person. I am not ready for Christmas to be coming, I know it's not that far off but I don't want to push it.
ReplyDeleteI like the red and green. More Christmasy.
ReplyDeleteFlorence of Louisiana
Love both cards!!
ReplyDeleteI love the pink and blue. I think using non-traditional colors (pink, blue, purple, yellow, etc.)make very cheerful Christmas Cards!
ReplyDeleteI like both the long and tall versions of the card, but my color choice would be red and green. Thanks for the great ideas. rosebud114
ReplyDeleteI amold fashioned so the red and green are my favs. Just love the new Tim Holtz Halloween folders, etc. Thanks for the chance to win and all your great ideas. I am wanting the bundle with the artbooking cartridge so much!! On my wish list.
ReplyDeleteI liked both cards, probably because you used glitter. I am a glitter girl. Everything is better with it. Loved the video.
ReplyDeletedutchie
I am a traditionalist so to speak. I like blues and silvers or red/green.... not as thrilled with pink and teal. Guess I am too old!! LOL
ReplyDeleteI like both cards. If you're into tradition, the green and red is wonderful. Non-traditional the teal and pink is great.
ReplyDeleteMary O'Neal
Although the pink and blue color combo is striking, I prefer the traditional red/green colors for Christmas. Thanks for the great ideas!
ReplyDeleteI did this on my G and cut it at 4" but came out with smaller circles. I had 5 rows of circles in the 4". What did I do wrong?
ReplyDeleteNaomi
I like the red and green mainly because I am a traditionalist I think for Christmas. But the other one is pretty too! I like the glitter on it too. Thanks for the glitter technique. I have done that but forgot about it. Really love the videos! Thanks so much.

I think to switch it up from the traditional red and green which symbolizes Christmas; the pink and blue would be a nice change for the holidays. Thanks for the inspiration. Good Luck, Everyone! ^_^
ReplyDeletecall me traditional...I like the red/green the best.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the teal/pink card the best. My grandmother loved these colors too. I guess I got that from her.

Keep up the good work. I have saved a space in my email box for your daily emails.

I like Red and Green better. I'm kinda traditional plus I like the orientation of that one better. They are both very pretty.
ReplyDeleteFor Xmas cards, I've gotta go with the traditional red/green. Lovely design for both!
ReplyDeleteGreat card. I like the Red and Green color combination the best.
ReplyDeleteI love how you did these cards, they're so pretty! I'm loving seeing all the versatility this cart has, thanks for all the great videos! I definitely prefer more traditional Christmas colors, so the red/green has my vote!
