[Video]Cookie Mix in a Jar with CTMH Poster Tidings Stamped Tags

Have you ever made "cookie mix in a jar" as a quick gift for a co-worker, friend or family member?

I hadn't until the Poster Tidings stamp set came along and I thought it would be a fun way to showcase it.

Quite awhile ago, I had saved THIS POST about cookie mixes in a jar by Bakerella, the fabulous food blogger.  I always thought I would get around to making it "some day"...

Well, that day happened...LOL!
This was not a hard project - frankly, the hardest part was packing all the ingredients into the jars.  You are supposed to leave the pecans for last just in case they don't fit.  Yeah, they don't fit...
A bit about the project:
- I got smooth sided, quart sized craft jars at Joanns (with a coupon, baby!), but you could use regular Ball jars also.
- I have two different cookie mixes - Bakerella's Cowboy Cookie Mix HERE and then I made one that substituted in cherry flavored cranberries and white chocolate chips for the Winter jar.  Not sure how those are going to taste - I'll have to report back...
- I stamped the stamps in various colors (see below) and then sliced up the word sections with my trimmer and applied them over the base section (see video below).
- I did add a to/from tag with instructions (see below):
This makes a quick, inexpensive and tasty gift - something to keep in mind with the holidays fast approaching!
This stamp set with both stamps is available for just $5 after your purchase of $50+.
The inks I used for this project were olive, cranberry, goldrush and saddle for the autumn tag and twilight, whisper, crystal blue and cotton candy and ruby for the winter tag (see HERE to get these inks).

  8. These are so cute to make. You have to have a good recipe. I made these for my friend's bridal shower as favors and they came out cute, but the recipe wasn't very good. I have to check out Bakerella's site.

  20. I think the tags look great on the cookie jars. I haven't given these as gifts myself, but I have received these as gifts. The only argument for not printing a tag is that a handwritten tag is more personal. So I say yah and nay, and better if you don't have great penmanship....

  21. Cookie Mixes in a jar are a "Yay!" as long as you include detailed directions and the recipient-supplied ingredients are household staples, e.g. eggs/milk/oil/etc. I really love the presentation:) adriannebraun@yahoo.com

One year I did Cranberry Hootycreeks in a jar for the moms who brought their kids to a gingerbread party I gave and to each teacher in the day care that our (at the time) newly adopted grandson went to. They were a HUGE hit. I love the tag that you did and it may be one I scraplift for some gifts this year!

  67. Yay for cookie mix in a jar. I used to have a bunch of those old fashioned canning jars, the kind with the glass lid and the wires to pull down to seal. I used some of them for cookies in a jar gifts. The old time jars added some extra charm.
