Close to My Heart Artiste Cricut Cartridge Swing Card 2

Here is another swing card to check out using the Close to My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge.

Fortunately, I was able to make a video of this to show you.  I had one for yesterday's card but the old Flip Video camera refused to let me load it on my computer.  Arrghh!  Technology woes!

Today's card is cut at 5-1/2" which will make a nice A2 sized card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2").  I used the Close to My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge, pg. 52, as shown above.
Next, still using the Close to My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge, I found the matching shape on pg. 35.  You can see the sizes I cut those at.

Check out the video below for more instructions (click HERE if you can't see the video):

Here are the two stamp sets I used:

  3. Great card. I like both--a video for watching especially if it is complicated and written instructions to come back to or when I don't have time to watch a video.

  4. Thanks for the tutorial. I actually like both a video and written instructions.

  7. great card. I like both the video and written instructions. Sometimes you need both to fully understand what the tutorial is telling you.

  8. It's really nice to have both! Once to see how it's done then the step by step to follow along as I make it. Love the card!

  11. That card is so cute! It's always fun to see your videos, Joy - I feel like I am crafting with you or taking a class with you! But sometimes, If I am in a hurry or it's not convenient to watch the video, or to save for later use, the written instructions are very helpful!

  15. I just got the Artiste cart and haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I love you card and the VIDEO is great because I need to see what to do. I'm not good with just written instructions. Thanks Joy

  17. Terrific card. I usually need both. Video is great but sometimes hands get in the way and it's hard to see, so pictures help. But over all video is probably best. I would love to win this cart.

  18. Great card. I like both videos and written instructions, but lean more toward videos.

  19. Usually, I prefer videos (especially clear ones like yours) but sometimes a quality photo with supplies is better than a fast moving video when trying to understand how a craft project was done.

  20. Great card..... love that cart. Still on my wish list.

  21. I like to see a video tutorial but have written instructions as well so I don't have to keep referring back to the video. I usually watch a video once to get the overall feel of it, then a second time to take notes. Your videos are always great. Thank you for all of them! But I still wish you had the CCR cut file for these great swing cards!!

  22. Great card. I like both, but I think videos are awesome for showing details. Thanks for sharing.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I do better when I can see something done rather than have to follow written instructions. Great card.

  24. Awesome card! Love the video! Thanks for taking the time to make it! Have a Great Day!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I generally prefer written tutorials, with pictures and diagrams. That way I can print or copy down instructions easier than if I have to quickly jot down notes and dimensions while watching a video.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Stunning! Absolutely gorgeous! And I can make it too. Since I actually have that cart? Wow. Thanks for the tutorials, both yesterday's and today's. YOU ROCK!

  27. Love these cards! I like written instructions.

  28. I like both - and it's fun to have the videos sometimes - you learn little techniques that you would otherwise not see.

  29. This cartridge is going on my wish list! I love all the options there are and it looks like so much could be done with this cartridge.

  30. Yesterday you inspired me to make the first swing card, and I made 4 of them! Now I see I have more cards to make. Thanks for the inspiration and for your video too!

  31. I like video instructions most of the time better.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Really love this card! For more complicated cards or 3-D objects, I like video instructions so that I can see how it goes together. For simpler cards, I like written instructions with all the dimensions, etc. I have found, however, that I tend to remember better when I watch a video!

    ReplyDelete
  33. It depends on how complex the project is. It's nice to have written instructions as I can print them to have for future reference but it's also nice to be able to see how to do something.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks for sharing this video.

I really need both the video and the written directions. I am a visual learner so I need to see it done once. But after I see it, I like to keep a "hard copy" of what is produced, along with written specifics so I do not have to find the video again for measurements, etc.

  35. What perfect timing Joy! My husband's birthday is Thursday, he's going to be out of town tonight so I have time to work on a card, and I didn't have any good ideas! I like this card because you can make it whatever you want. It's a great canvas to play on. Although I have some of the "flip-it" dies from Sizzix that I use with my Big Shot, I have never made one of these flip-style cards on my Cricut. I am going to make this one today! Thank you so much for posting this. I depend on the vision that people like you share so generously. I look through the handbooks of my Cricut carts and often, I just can't see the possibilities like you can. Now off to pick out my paper and grab my cartridge!

  41. I love to see a video, but clear, concise directions with still pictures are great to refer back to. I really like your swing card. Thanks for always offering great giveaways!

  42. Cute card! I usually prefer written instructions with photos so I can scan for exactly the info I need. But if I'm learning a new technique, or a project is especially complicated, a video can really help me understand the process. Thanks for all you do to keep us inspired!

    ReplyDelete
  43. For me...I like both types of directions! I read it through and go to the video to cement it into this ol' brain! I am loving these swing cards!

  53. Hi Joy! What a pretty card...love the fold and the cheery paper combos too. TFS I had no idea the Artiste cart had such neat special folded cards on it, so glad you showed us because I've been wanting a Sizzix die that does the same card, but I think it finishes as much smaller. LOVE when I learn something like this from you. As for your question today, I like both vids and written directions...I learn little extras from both and appreciate you putting so much effort into them all :)

  64. I like either way. Video's are great if the project is a bit confusing or complicated. It might help beginners understand the process of a project better. I'm o.k. with either one. By the way, love the swing card. Thanks for the tip.
