I used the Cricut Going Places cartridge, an oldie but a goodie, and cut the compass at 2--1/2", with many layers. I pop dotted it onto the front of the card. I found the striped and chevron papers at Hobby Lobby and it strikes me as nautical looking - perfect for a compass.
I used a die to cut the scallops.
The inside sentiment is from the best manly stamp set around: Scrappy Moms called "For the Boys":

ReplyDeleteI love both the fast and easy projects and the more complicated. I think you have a wonderful talent for making them ALL seem easy! Thanks for sharing your talents. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat depends on card or scrap booking. For a card usually quick and easy. Scrap booking layouts I will spend more time. Thank you for all the great ideas you share.
ReplyDeleteGreat card idea~I've had that cartridge for years & never thought about that compass & saying!
ReplyDeleteI love both kind of projects. The ones that look oh so difficult & are oh so easy are the best ;)

ReplyDeleteDefinitely simple and fast!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Love the papers you used!
ReplyDeleteLove these colors and design. Most of the time I prefer simple so I can get more pages done, but it is fun when I have extra time to do a more complicated layout.
ReplyDeleteI love doing all kinds of crafts but the vinyl would be great for using with the Cricut and glass etching. I'm really looking forward to this project and also the card is so vibrate!
ReplyDeletelove the colorfulness of this card. tfs. I like to make quick and easy projects.
ReplyDeleteGreat card. I like both kinds of styles. It just depends on the amount of time I have and what mood I'm in as to whether I make my card elaborate or simple.
ReplyDeleteGreat card. I love Scrappy Mom Stamps.

Love the primary colors on this card. I think men like those kinds of colors, too, so it's a perfect masculine card.
ReplyDeleteI like to make a bunch of cards ahead of time and then just grab one as needed and add a sentiment. I like the card to have nice colors but be simple so I can use it for many events.
ReplyDeleteI love this card -Bright and Happy and you did a great job on it.... Thanks so much for sharing all you amazing creations... What talent and what inspiration you share!
ReplyDeleteI like the fast and easy projects!! Thank you for sharing this card with us, and the tip about what stamp set you used...you rock!!

ReplyDeleteYour card is absolutely adorable! Fun and timely. And, I have that cartridge. Thanks for the great ideas?
ReplyDeleteI love doing both kinds of cards, it really depends on the time I have to do them. I really love doing detailed and unique cards but the time it takes to make one card like that I could have three or four easier ones.
ReplyDeleteLove the bright colors used in your card. Looks very vibrant.
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I love the bright colors. I usually think of darker colors when making a masculine card, but you've inspired me to try something a little more cheerful! To answer your question, I keep my projects simple (although I love the detailed projects others create!)
ReplyDeleteI like simple fast and easy card projects. Seems I am always needing a card for some occasion and do not always have the right one for the occasion, so quick and fast if for me.
ReplyDeleteLove the compass! Great card Joy! Great card!
ReplyDeleteGreat card...love the cute sentiments! I really like both kinds of cards...of course I tend to make the girly cards more complicated than the men's!
ReplyDeleteI have that cart. I'll have to pull it out and take a look at it again. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI guess I like both kinds of projects - depending on the time available and the mood I am in...

I like to do any kind of project, but I think my favorite is doing the more complex ones for a challenge. Thanks for a chance to win. Would love to try vinyl.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, I love the bright colors. My husband would love it!
ReplyDeleteI get great satisfaction from complicated and detailed projects, which then require more time. so, I do simple projects when I need to get the job done quickly. love your card!
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I've always loved the phrase, "you are my true north" since I saw the movie, "Message in a Bottle".
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
What a great card. I love the colors! Appreciate all your wonderful ideas. You are an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really neat card. Thanks, once again, for sharing. You are very crafty. I love that. Simple and fast projects can be fun but I also like more complicated projects. It depends on what I am trying to achieve at the end. If I need party favors, I like them simple shabby and chic. If I am working on a scrapbook layout I try to be more detailed and find something special to add to the page.
ReplyDeleteI like simple and fast projects.
ReplyDeleteI really like this beautiful card! I enjoy the fast cards but I tend to make more detailed cards.

Nice card! I like the complicated projects but I don't like the time it takes so I tend to go on the simple side.
ReplyDeleteI DO like more complicated & detailed. It may take me longer but the, "WOW, Thank you" factor is far more gratifying!!! Thanks for the AWESOME giveaway!! kweenbee_612@yahoo.com

Geez. It really depends on the project...but usually I go for simple and fast; that's what first attracted me to Creative Memories...and Cricut.
ReplyDeleteI love a challenge, so complicated is my bag! Your True North card is great with fun colors and great designs!Would love that vinyl!Thank you for your giveaways!
ReplyDeleteI'm new and just found out everyday cricut has closed. That's sad. I was looking forward to going there.
ReplyDeleteI hope I'm doing this correctly. My favorite salads are broccoli and tuna. I visited Belarus about 8 years ago. The family I stayed withs Mom made beet salad. It was delicious. Not sure what was in it. I should have gotten the recipe but I don't speak Belarussian. The daughters spoke some English. I should have asked them.

hi Joy..great card! Love the colors and patterns of the papers. I kind of like any style card but lately because of all my things on my "to do" list of things to get done, I like simple. Besides it seems to be the "in"thing right now.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jo
I enjoy Spinach/Strawberry salads and I like the complicated and detailed layouts.

ReplyDeleteI love both cutesy and elegant but I let the theme of my pictures help me make my decision.
This is a perfect cartridge for a great grandma who does lots of card making. 10 great grandchildren and two more on the way. What fun it will be to make cards using this adorable cartridge.
