Hello ~ Happy Wednesday! Today is day 3 of my guest designing on Joy's blog and the My Creative Time Sneak Peeks! I hope you all have enjoyed this week so far! I am still having so much fun, and I hope you all are too! Let's get right to my card today!
Well today I will be showcasing the stamp set "It's All About You" . There is a coordinating die called "Stitched Mini Frame and Arrow" ( SOLD separately). Some other ladies on the design team will be showcasing some other stamps and dies. Just head on over to Emma's blog to see ALL the fabulous creations! I promise you are going to want this whole entire release ~ you are going to LOVE them!
For my card today I needed to make a card for someone special in my life, and there is this PERFECT sentiment on the "It's All About You" stamp set! This special person LOVES to shop, so I searched through my cartridges for a bag.
I found this bag on 3 Birds on Parade cartridge. Now you are probably thinking, "What? Where???" On page 39, there is this cute little ghost bird holding his little treat bag! I enlarged the image on the layer 1 button. This bag has jagged edges on the top but I knew that wasn't going to be an issue because I wanted to add some boa! Now, my sentiment is heat embossed on a scrap piece of paper that came from the "Stitched Postage Frame Die" . My balloons were created with the dies from the "Warm Holiday Fun" stamp set. I added some twine, and this card was complete! Something quick and simple, right??
Materials Used:
Circut Cartridge ~ 3 Birds on Parade ~ gift bag ( cut @ 13.75)
My Creative Time ~ "It's All About You" ~ sentiment
My Creative Time ~ "Stitched Postage Frame Die" ~ paper that comes from the center
My Creative Time ~ "Warm Holiday Fun" ~ dies for my balloons
Paper ~ Paper Trey Ink, Simple Stories and Paper Company
Twinery Twine
Ink ~ Archival
Ribbon ~ Paper Trey Ink
Boa

Good news, huh!? YAY!
A couple more things: Cricut now has repair options for those of you with Gypsies that do not work. See below: Click HERE to see more details about the repair plan. Also, Provo Craft announced this in regards to the Gypsy: While we are dedicated to providing ongoing support and repair options for the Cricut Gypsy™ device, we have made the decision to stop production on the current Cricut Gypsy™ model. This will allow us to focus our efforts and prioritize our product offering. We will still offer support and content updates for the Cricut Gypsy™ device. |
We will also stop providing updates to the Cricut DesignStudio® software in order to focus those resources on creating and improving the Cricut® experience. We will still offer support for the software, but there will be no further content updates for the Cricut DesignStudio® software. You can get the final update to Cricut Design Studio HERE -there will be no cartridges added after April 11, 2013.

This is great news!! I am still hoping for a new version of the Gypsy. I have not had time to sit and try to learn CCR but I am still in love with my Gypsy.
ReplyDeleteAnother great card today....love the black boa type material you added and the pink, teal, and black color combo is fabulous!!

Wow what an awesome gift bag it is so girly and just so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy for the Cricut.com info YEA!!!
Thanks for the news about the Gypsy and CCR...I have my cricut and my computer in two different rooms and I'm not paying for the wireless gizmo for the E2...so, finally being able to link my Gypsy to the CCR is awesome! I take my little Gypsy Girl everywhere and this is one added bonus for me, finally! Thanks (I didn't get Cricut's email about this news)....so I do appreciate you sharing this here.
ReplyDeleteSince I'm not a Gypsy user, and love my Design Studio, I'm not very happy with the news. I knew they were not doing much with DS but to not include updates for future carts just means I won't be buying any. I tried CCR and didn't really like it plus I'd rather work offline.
ReplyDeleteSuper Cute Project! And thanks for sharing the news about linking the Gypsy! I'm so excited!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for all of you that use CCR but not excited about the gypsy, figured awhile back that they were stopping production. Makes you wonder when they'll stop the updates for the gypsy then like they have for DS. I really prefer my handheld device over CCR especially with the way the server is, sometimes up and sometimes down. Yep not that excited sorry
ReplyDeleteWonderful gift bag! I love the colors that Kim chose! And way to find the cut that you needed for the bag!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this news about Gypsy's and Design Studio. I won a Cameo recently and am thinking long and hard about whether I'm going to keep my Cricut and all the accessories or not. Without Design Studio updates for any new cartridges, it means that I will not feel like buying any new cartridges since I rely on using Design Studio when I'm in locations without internet access and I prefer designing on the computer (I have a background in doing computer drafting and it's just a very natural thing for me to want see the exact size of the cuts before I cut them!) This is very good information to have at this point in time! Thanks so much for sharing!
Ummmm, I'm not really sure what I think about all of this. I do like CCR, but my computer and my craft room are unfortunately no where near each other. they are actually on 2 different floors and there is nothing i can do about it..lol. so I LOVE My gypsy. It's very sad to me to think it could become obsolete and I may not get updates for it in the future....I am excited however that I can now link my gypsey and CCR.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this info Joy! I love my Gypsy and I hope they dON't get rid of it :(, Iguess I will worry about later ;) but for now is really nice that it links now to CCR.
ReplyDeleteAother fab card by kim too!
Thanks to both of you for sharing!
Have a wonderful day!
Liz O
I love your card one like this would be perfect for my daughter in law's birthday in May Thanks for all the inspiration and tips given about using other dies in a different way

I have a gypsy but don't use it much. I also don't use CCR much because my computer is upstairs, craftroom is downstairs. What I would like to do, if possible, is use CCR on my Kindle Fire Tablet with wireless connection. I have to find out if this is possible before I buy the adaptor for my E2.Thanks for keeping us up to date Joy!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this new linking option!!!!! Cute card....love the frou frou gift bag!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat card and love love the boa! I've enjoyed your creations and inspirations thus far. Hope Joy will have you back again.

Thanks for the news about the gypsy and the craft room. As I use them both I was excited, until I tried for the past 5 hours to "sync" the gyspy and got no where. I even tried rebooting the computer, reinstalling the sync and it still is not working. I had major trouble one other time uploading a newer version to my gyspy -it took over 2 days to finally get it and I read many others had the same problem. Why does it take so long to sync the gyspy and how long will it take to upload my carts?? Thanks for all your help.
ReplyDeleteSuper job on your card! I love the balloons/ornaments and the boa! Clever card!
