This is going to be a tough category for me because I absolutely LOVE all of these cartridges. I mean, really love them! I chose cartridges that covered all the holidays extensively (hence no Simply Charmed, for example).
Here are the contenders for the category of Best Year Round Seasonal Cricut Cartridge of 2010:
Here are the contenders for the category of Best Year Round Seasonal Cricut Cartridge of 2010:
1) Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art: This full size cartridge has a whopping FOUR fonts, layered word art, cute two layered images and some of those famous Martha borders! Remember these cake cartridges all work all the machines and make beautiful cards. They are not just for cakes!
2) Celebrate with Flourish Lite Cartridge: This is one of my all time favorite cartridges! It has beautiful multi-layered word art and flourishy images for all the holidays. Available only at Walmart and cricut.com.
Let's hear a drum roll, please.....the winner of the Best Year Round Seasonal Cricut Cartridge is the......
Cricut Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art Cartridge!
This was a really hard choice.
I chose the Martha Seasonal Cake Art cartridge because it had four fonts and all kinds of borders. If you love the Martha border punches, you'll love these borders on here. This cartridge cuts like a dream also. I also chose this one because it is more widely available and not as pricey as the other two, due to that fact. I know....probably shouldn't be a factor but it did enter into the considerations.
Frankly, though, if I could have had a three way tie, I would have. But I thought you guys would think that was a cop out!
What is your choice? I can't wait to hear!

Oh man! Now I need some new cartridges! These are all crazy cute!
ReplyDeleteVery nice cards thanks for sharing and Happy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteI have the cheerful seasons and like it alot but I think I must buy the Martha Stewart cartridge because I love her border punches and would love to have them in a cartridge rather then buy all the punches. I've been contemplating buying the punches but now you have changed my mind. Thanks Joy!
ReplyDeleteYou have sold me on Martha Stewart Season Cake cart. Gotta go find one to buy! Thanks for sharing and a Happy New Year to you.

I appreciate your list of favorites
ReplyDeleteit has been really helpful in
comparing cartridges. Just got back from my Roberts craft store and bought the Cindy loo after seeing your report. All the carts are 19.99 or 24.99 today--wish I could have bought a dozen! Just wish they carried the Martha S. carts!

I got 2 of the MS carts for Christmas & just used one today for the first time. I love the cuts & the fonts on both of them! I don't know if it's appropriate to do this, but anyone interested in purchasing them should check out Memory Misers. She has fantastic prices on carts. and ships very quickly.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your list of must haves. I think I will go out and get Celebrate with Flourish later today!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
My fave would be Create w/Flourish, but only because its the only one out of these I have. lol
ReplyDeleteGreat cards!!
Well I don't have too many cartridges and none that would fill either "best year round" or "best for moms". You are so right that this is super hard to select just one from each category.
ReplyDeleteI love love love the card you made with Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons but there is no way that I would drop about $90 to buy one cartridge. That's just plain craziness. So on this one I guess I'll have to agree with you even though I don't think I'd want the cartridge.
Also for the Best for Moms selection that would be difficult because they seem so age specific. It's nice to have a mixture of baby on up to teen age on a cart. I really like Create A Critter and use it so often. So that would be my pick.
Joy, the card you made using the MS cart is absolutely gorgeous! I'm pretty new to this whole thing; got my Cricut in October, but I think I'm learning that it's "all in the paper." The papers you used for this card are so pretty and coordinate so well. All your cards are fantabulous! You are definitely one of the best designers out there in this wide world of crafty scrappers. Love your blog too. I'm going to have to check out those MS cartridges! Best wishes for a Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI've really got to check out those cake carts! These all look wonderful. Ask for the reviews!
ReplyDeleteI loved the MS cart when I saw and just recently bought it. Need to try it out soon. I have all of the others but the CM one, but you are making me want it too. Oh so painful!!! Great cards!

Wow!!!! I feel really dumb. I had no idea the MS cake carts could be used for paper projects. This was not a lost day......I learned something new. :-) Now I am off to take a real close look at the cake carts. more :-) {Hugs} Peggy

Great! This is the ONE Martha Stewart cartridge I DIDN'T buy! I guess I have to order it too, now! But really, thanks for all your help!!
ReplyDeleteWow...another cart you sold me on...I'm addicted to fonts...that could be the reason.
ReplyDeleteLove all your cards..I think my fav is Celebrate with Flourish but I wasn't aware MS had a Seasonal Art cart I have her Holiday cart..and U R so right her borders are spectacular...I'm going to, however, check this one out....thanks for all your ideas they are all brilliant.

ReplyDeleteThey are all so beautiful. It makes me want to own every cartridge! Thank you for taking the time to do the top 10 series.
ReplyDeleteI love the cards, another cartridge I need to add to my list.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Years
Oh I don't have that one. Looks yummy and great for year round.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the 3 way tie. I think I want the Creative Memories cartridge next.
ReplyDeleteJoy, just wanted to post a "Thank you"! I really have enjoyed all the categories and the review of the cartridges. I have forgotten about some of them. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteJulie from Fayette
I have the celebrate w/flourish and just love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna agree with you on this choice Joy... I have all 3 cartridges and they are ALL Wonderful.... but the Martha Stewart Cartridge does offer a lot more than the other two in terms of Font and Borders which makes it more versatile for soooo many projects! :o)
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of cartridges I think and I don't have any of these. I will be putting them on my wish list. Thank you for doing this it has to be quite a big job. It is very helpful.
ReplyDeleteI have been eying both the MS cake carts, would love to have thanks for showing a lovely card. Your work is always so inspiring thanks again

I may have to break down and buy Flourish. I don't use most of the cartridges I have now. My New Year's goal is to create a card using a different cartridge every week. Hmmmm
ReplyDeleteWell Joy, I don't have any of these! but I have had my eye on the Celebrate With Flourish cartridge for quite sometime now...and now that I know you can use the cake carts on any cricut machine I feel like a whole new world has just been discovered! lol!!
ReplyDeleteI just love all your creations here on this blog. I agree with your choice. I only have one MS cartridge which is Elegant Cake but it is worth buying just for the borders! Did some pointsettia type flowers in red with a green backing and it turned out beautiful! This was a big undertaking for you and we all really appreciate it.

I have Celebrate with Florish and use it a lot. I have been looking at the MS cartridges trying to decide which ones to put on my wish list and it what order to put them as to which I want most. You are helpingf me decide on which cartrridges I reallyt MUST HAVE. Thanks for shareing
ReplyDeleteI have been holding back on the CM cheerful Seasons. I might just have to get it now. Absolutely beautiful! TFS...Bug Hugs!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite cartridge for 2010 would have to be the Cricut Lite Live Simply cartridge. I found myself pulling it down from the shelves...more often than the others. I got the Simply Charmed cartridge and Birthday Bash cart in November and would have to say that I absolutely love the BB cart! It has a LOT of options on it. Check it out!
ReplyDeleteI have Celebrate with a Flourish and Love It! I would like to get the CM cheerful seasons cartridge. I hear it is wonderful. Haven't heard much about the Martha Stewart one except on here. Thanks for a great blog!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any of these but that Martha Stewart one does look promising and I love her punches!
ReplyDeletecirclebenterprises.blogspot.com
Great choice! I don't have the Cheerful Seasons one simply because it's harder to buy &, like you said, more expensive. I've really enjoyed your "Best of" series...Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteJust with the 4 fonts alone is worth it.

What do you think of when you look at the cross and the crucifix? Do they hold sacred and religious value for you?
ReplyDeleteAfter reading Ogechukwu’s book, your perception may change; the church’s use of these symbols has, for centuries, concealed facts regarding their true origins. Ogechukwu reveals those findings in this stunning expose.
His research includes historical accounts of Christianity’s conspiracy and divulges the true meaning of the cross—a satanic symbol.
Ogechukwu states:
“For centuries after Christ, the church and other religions that use cruciform symbols have misrepresented the physical nature of Christ's death with a satanic symbol (cross), and a pagan idol (corpus). This secret has been concealed by the church for centuries after Christ."
What reason did the church have for shifting the cross’ meaning from one of evil to one of goodness?
This easy to read, enlightening and academically sound book regarding the symbolism and meaning of the cross leads to a stunning conclusion. Learn more about the real nature of Christ’s death and religion’s role in the change in symbolism. Ogechukwu wants to reveal the truth in hopes of releasing humankind from what he calls the “painful knowledge bondage” of cruciform propaganda.
