  5. I don't get a lot of visitors to my house in the middle of nowhere, so I don't do a lot of decorating until Thanksgiving and Christmas. However, I have my first grandchild on the way, and I think Halloween will become a fun holiday once again to decorate for.

  9. Joy, it sounds like you are keeping your spirits up. As prepared as you are, it will still hit you hard when the time comes. Allow yourself time to grieve and treasure the memories you have.

Now on to your question. Basically just fall with some Halloween thrown in just for the night of our annual hayride.

  23. Love Halloween!! My daughter's teenage friends in our neighborhood recently told her that they actually make a special trip to drive by our house at Halloween because they love seeing the decorations! That just gives me the added incentive to keep adding to the fun. Decorations go up on Oct. 1 and come down the week after Halloween on the best weather day.

  24. I thought I would decorate for Halloween when my kids were young. It doesn't matter how old they are, the vote is to decorate for both!

  25. Mostly for fall, but I do put out special Halloween things here and there. Like my special Mary Engelbriet pumpkins and things. I do tend to decorate the kids/guest bathroom up for each and every holiday. It's a small space that is easy to change and update monthly.

  33. I decorate for both Halloween & Autumn. The carved pumpkins are put out for Halloween in the front windows facing so people outside can see them with tap lights to light them up with. After Halloween is over I turn the pumpkins around and walla they are Autumn pumpkins.

  40. Fall is my favorite time of year! I like to decorate for both. One year I printed out photos of myself, my kids, and the grands of our costumes over the years. I glued them to chipboard, cute them out and made stands for them. Then I laid down a string of orange twinkle lights in my hutch, covered them with real fallen maple leaves, then staggered the standing cut outs through out. It was a big hit! Part of my decorating is also scents...nothing but pumpkin spice and cinnamon. :)

  41. The kids are grown so I just don't decorate much like I used to.

  77. I am so very, very sorry to hear about your Father. He sounds like a wonderful man, both professionally and personally. I think the greatest tribute to a person is the expression of love by others and you have shown you love your Dad very much.

I love to decorate for both Halloween and Fall and have separate door wreaths and some different main decorations for the different events but both share some of the same such as fall leaves, Indian corn, hay bales.

  82. We used to have a Haunted House party until my dd was born... then life just didn't allow it. Over time our yard decor fell apart and we never made new stuff.. so now.. it's just a few halloween things around the inside of the house... sometimes pumpkins outside if we can find decent ones at a decent price. I think i will get some Halloween decor out today!!! It will mostly get put away right after halloween since i will be preparing for company on Thanksgiving.
