Picture Keeper Review and Giveaway plus Coupons!

First off, before the coupons, I wanted to review the Picture Keeper PK4, which stores up to 4,000 pictures* quickly and easily. Picture Keeper sent me the PK-4 device to review and giveaway.

Here's what the Picture Keeper does:
Picture Keeper works on multiple platforms (PC & Mac) and keeps track of the photos you've already stored. It only copies new additions and modified files, and stores them using the same folder names as on your computer - making pictures a snap to find.
There are four different Picture Keepers to choose from and here are their capacities:
Here are some benefits to the Picture Keeper Devices:

  • No software to install, wires to connect, passwords to remember, or monthly fees.
  • Use on multiple computers; both PC and Mac compatible.
  • Once one Picture Keeper fills, just use another and the second will continue where the first left off.  Amazing!
  • Can backup videos too!
  • Works well with all photo organizing softwares like Kodak Easy Share.
  • Easily use with your digital photo frame, favorite print kiosk or keep in a fire proof safe.

My review of the Picture Keeper P4:

As soon as I received the P4, I read the directions in the quick start guide and followed them immediately.  Since I have a Mac machine, they were very simple. I did notice that for the PC devices, they had specific directions for XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.  Directions were simple and easy to follow - very few steps!

The Picture Keeper is a device that goes into your USB port, as shown in the photo above.

Initially, I rushed in and began to backup my photos.  This was before I saw the message saying to be sure and empty the trash before you begin.  So I quickly cancelled the backup, emptied the trash and started again.  It was no trouble to do this.  I saw I had over 3,000 items in the trash (many of them images) so I see why they recommend this step.

The PK-4 stored 1,879 photos and it took about 18 minutes to load them onto the device.  Many of these were from a DSLR camera.

Overall, it was very easy to back up the photos - quick and painless!  As I have more photos, I will be purchasing an additional Picture Keeper to store them on.  I love that it keeps track of what's stored where and so it won't be duplicating photos onto the new Picture Keeper that I am purchasing.

Note: Picture Keeper Has agreed to giveaway the PK4 device. I was Not Paid in cash for this posting. I was sent a product for review and all opinions are my own.

  1. Too cute...and yes...once my card is full...I post the pics on my computer and burn a dvd and label. This is a neat idea though...love how it knows where you left off.

  2. Wait a second... 18 minutes to move a couple gigs of pictures onto a USB device? I'm suspicious. I know how long my time machine back up takes....so is it saving full resolution pictures? How does it work if you need to retrieve them? The next time you back up, can it tell what is already backed up or does it just grab everything again? And how is this expense versus some other, online storage, ie Box, Dropbox or even google drive (which just switched to full resolution images)?

  10. I am terrible at backing up pictures - mostly because it's so hard to organize them and find them later. I guess a long search is better than not having pictures at all in case of a crash, so this product would help me out immensely!

  16. I used to back up photos but a couple of years ago, I went on vacation and hid my external backup so if my computer was stolen I would at least have my backup. Problem is - I don't remember where I hid it!!! Never did find it so this little device would come in handy! Thanks for the review. :)

  17. I've had several computer crashes over the years, but fortunately only lost a section of photos...but it was still quite painful! I try to remember to back up regularly, but that doesn't always happen...this sounds like an easy solution! Thanks for the inputs! Hope everything is going smoothly for your Dad and your family! Hugs!

  18. As soon as my photos go onto the computer I upload to snapfish and/or shutterfly depending on their subject matter. Then once a year, I copy all the photos onto CD's for storage and then every couple of years I make a set to store at my mom's house. That way if there is a fire I can still have hard copies of everything.

  116. I am currently struggling with my external hard drive so I have been backing up to a flash drive but I'm fearful that it's not enough. This product sounds perfect for a large collection of digital images without a lot of hassle or work. I would love to try it....thank you for the opportunity to be able to win one!

  124. I don't back my pictures up often enough. Probably haven't done it in a year or so. But every time I back them up I end up with doubles & triples of everything. Nothing is organized either so all pictures are very hard to find. I have been doing lots of research on the Picture Keeper but haven't bitten the bullet yet to buy one. It would be great to win! Thanks for the chance.

  125. After losing so many pictures to failed hard drives I try to put my pictures on disks periodically, but it's hard to keep up with what's been backed up and what hasn't. I have purchased an external drive to back things up, but it seems kind of cumbersome to do. This device sounds quick and easy. What a great giveaway. Thanks for the chance to win!

  130. I am one of the awful ones....I very seldom backup my pictures. The way I do is to put them on DVD's so that I will have them to keep forever. I usually end up with lots of double, triple and even many, many extra copies, but that is better than not having them at all. I would love to win the PK-4 thanks for the chance.

  133. My android phone automatically backs up my pictures to Picasa Web. My photos that I take on my ipod touch are supposed to back up to iPhoto but I feel like there are a lot missing and I'd rather have an external drive instead to back them up on or in addition to. Thanks for the chance to win!

  134. I just recently started backing up all my files - after I lost a bunch of them when my computer crashed. I really am hoping to be more diligent with my back ups - wish me luck! :)

  136. I looked into the Picture Keeper a couple of years ago and thought it didn't hold enough pictures. Now I see the PKPro holds 62,000 pictures, which is great! I have most of my pictures on two different computers, but I would love to have them on a true backup system. It would be great to be able to try out the PK4 to see if it would be worth upgrading to the PKPro, so I really hope I win!! :)
Thanks so much for the opportunity Joy!!
