Two New Layout Based Cricut Cartridges Released Today!

Provo Craft has come up with a great idea: design a cartridge that makes 50 layouts quickly and easily!

The two new cartridges, Cricut The First Few Years and Cricut When I was a Kid, both embrace this concept.  Take a look below for more details:

Cricut The First Few Years Cartridge:

As shown above with the red arrows, the sizing is given in blue for each of the elements to make the layout shown in the main square.

Also, you may notice that the images are not terribly specific so you could make this layout but use a different title (ex: "Our New Home").
Here are the 50 different layouts.  While many of them are single photo layouts, there are some that are multi-photo.

And it comes with a font:
Here's a sample layout made by the Cricut Design Team:

Cricut When I Was A Kid Cartridge:
Too cute, right??

Don't forget I have TWO giveaways going on this week!

  7. This is an interesting idea - I like that ProvoCraft is trying something new. I usually use my Cricut at the end of a layout to add title/embellishment. Big change to use it for an entire layout - might have to try this one. Please keep us updated if you try it!

My daughter will be 23 this year, its time i started her baby book before she has a baby of her own LOL oh wait, that gives me an idea, maybe i should just make 2 of everything and i'll have the future baby done before it is even conceived :)

  16. This isn't a new release but the other one is. I got this cart but would really like it to be linked to my "G" so that I could use it to it's full potential.

  20. I really think I'm going to like these.

  21. I like the idea, and the large die cut elements, but I really don't like the sentiments. They're very "kiddy" and I don't have children so I'd not use them at all. I haven't bought a cart in over four years, but I'm kind of disliking buying die cut packs. It's good to have around, but they're kinda costly, no?

  24. I didn't think I "needed" either of these carts when I first heard about them. But, after seeing all the images, phrases and fonts, I'm rethinking my "need." I'm pretty sure now that they fall into that category. LOL

  25. I love the idea of a layout based cartridge. Sometimes, I would love to just be able to pull a design and start cutting all the pieces. I think I would be able to get a lot of layouts done quickly too!!!! Anything that saves time for me is my friend. Also love that their are so many images on each cartridge with a font as well.

  36. I've just done two layouts using the music layout which is free on CCR at the minute - fantastic idea and it makes it so fun. There's a cut file on the project page for this kit on the Cricut website too :-)

  37. Some of these would make great cards too. I like the font and the idea that with these cartridges, all I need is some paper to coordinate custom made pages.

    ReplyDelete
  70. love the concept of these, it will make my time making layouts go faster!! Just ordered the first one too!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I love both of these. I love the idea that they give you the measurements to help you make the layout. I could have a lot of fun with these. Your layouts are great.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I like some of the content of these carts, esp the fonts. But I won't be buying them as my kids are grown. I'm not crazy about the layout idea - I think it takes away some of the creativity. Plus it looks like most of them are one photo layouts and my layouts are mostly 2-page, multiple photo layouts.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Even though I don't scrapbook...only make cards...these carts can be great for that. You can use the layouts as ideas for cards and use all of the fonts, frames, sayings, etc. on them as well.

Thanks for giving us the chance to win the bears...it looks really cute and I LOVE bears :)

  78. I just bought the First Few Years one as I love the shapes and font it comes with. I haven't made a layout yet - that is for this weekend. I hope to see a double layout cartridge in the future too! The graphics on the Kid cartridge is a little more doodley. I like it and may get it later but I like the graphics on the baby one better.
