Make A Manly Pillow Box with the Cricut!

Need a gift card holder for a guy?  Or a guy teacher?

My son has had a wonderful teacher this year and I'm getting his "end of school year" gift together.  A gift card is usually appreciated and fortunately, our school provided the info about what stores/restaurants/hobbies that the teachers like.  So helpful.

The pillow box is a perfect solution.  Larger than a card, smaller than a gift bag.
I found this fun, chevron pillow box hidden away on the Cricut Something to Celebrate cartridge.  Amazingly, there are quite a few pillow boxes on this cartridge (see below-photos from cricut site):

I cut this pillow box at 8.5".  The box comes out to about 4" x 6".  I inked the edges to hide the score lines.  I used Scor-Tape to adhere the box.  Ribbon is from Stampin Up!
Quick and easy!  My favorite kind of project!

I found the teacher appreciation tag at 24/7 Moms as a free download HERE.  Thanks to 24/7 Moms for this fun tag!

And now for our giveaway!

This week's giveaway is the Cricut Teddy Bear Parade cartridge!

  6. I love to make mini albums...my all time favorite is one I made for a vacation that my husband and I took to TN back when we first got married. I often take it out and look to reminisce. Back to the carefree days before we had kids and our lives became so chaotic! lol Wouldn't have it any other way though.

  48. I do make mini album's. Our foster son was put into high needs care due to the abuse he received by his mother. So, I made one to take with him. It included all the prayers that we say, pictures, a story we read every night that he loved and little letters from us telling him how much we love him. After six months he is finally coming back home to live with us. We get to start our adoption upon his return. Thank the Lord. I really enjoy your site and your projects.

  59. I really like to make mini-albums, but I have to really like someone to make one for them lol. One of my favorites is the Maze mini-book made out of one 12 x 12 sheet. There are so many variations that can be made with that (pockets, sewing, binding pages or not, drawing with Cricut markers before cutting, etc.)

  62. First of all I have to say I love the font on the "first few years"cart. Both cartridges would be great to use on layouts and I think this is a great tool to have. I think both of these cartridges would become your "go-to" carts to use when scrapping'.

  72. Oh gosh I don't think I have that cartridge, love this though. Might have to see if I can find this one cheap. LOL I love to make mini albums in the middle of one right now and had one started for my mom with her dog, didn't get it done in time she passed away on the 30th of April. Darn pneumonia took her just like it did my dad. Wish I would of started it earlier but who knew we wouldn't have her much longer. Going to be very difficult to finish that one. I miss my mom and dad so much.
