ReplyDeleteMy family and I celebrated yesterday with my parents and brother joining us at our house for dinner and a relaxed day together. My toddler and I made mini American flags to plant on our front lawn and we all reminisced about family members who served in past wars and are gone now.
ReplyDeleteJust relaxing...dreary and cool day so no parade or cookout this year.
ReplyDeleteToday we are just hanging out and taking it easy. Believe it or not, it's only about 60 degrees and it is sprinkling outside, weird weather for California. However, we are still enjoying the day, hope you are having a great day with your family too!

Great giveaway! My family celebrates Memorial Day just spending time together, cookout and cornhole!
ReplyDeleteToday (Memorial Day) I traveled 500 miles to my home after visiting my parents' graves and planting flowers near their headstone. I don't often get to honor them in that way, so I'm very glad I was able to do so this year.
ReplyDeleteJust grilling out with my family and relaxing!
ReplyDeleteWe spent the morning fishing at the grandparents pond with our veteran dad and a picnic lunch. Nine fish total but we put them all back. Hooked one turtle and got him unhooked and back to his family pdq. Luck had it that he was NOT a snapper - whew. Then off to the neighbors for a bbq. Low key but celebrated dad all day!

Memorial Day is spent in Ocean City, NJ, renting a surrey and riding up and down the boardwalk. Then you walk taking in all the shops, stopping for pizza, getting some Shriver's saltwater taffy, sampling the fudge, and not forgetting to get a cup of gelato. If it's warm enough you take some time to sit on the beach for a while and enjoy the sound and smell of the ocean.
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway! We normally spend Memorial Day at the cabin with friends...this year worked helping our son with his remodeling.

Our Memorial Day was spent in Sacramento at a 5K Run for the Vietnam Veterans...My husband is a Vietnam Vet so it was very special to be there with the few speeches, songs and other veterans to remember their service. Naturally we didn't "win" but it was fun to spend the day together doing something special for vets....I hope you had a special day too.

This year we drove to MI from OH to see my mom for a belated Mother's Day dinner. It was just a quick visit but nice!
ReplyDeleteWe always celebrate Memorial day with a family cookout & then visit veterans at the nursing home, bringing them homemade cookies & a hand made card thanking them fortheir service to our country. they always have interesting stories too tell & yesterday was no different. it's sad to see that a lot of Vietnam vets are showing up in nursing homes. I'm used to seeing a few remaining WWII vets & Korean war vets but it doesn't seem like it's time for Vietnam vets to be in there yet.
ReplyDeleteEvery few years my daughter's birthday lands on Memorial Day, this year she turned 16 on Memorial Day, so that's how we spent it this year. I am so grateful for our wonderful country and the freedoms we have because our soldiers are willing to sacrifice. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWe spend the day home relaxing. It is one holiday we don't travel.
ReplyDeleteOur youngest graduated Friday with the reception on Saturday and many receptions to go to on Sunday, so Monday was a day to collapse.
ReplyDeleteWe celebrated with a cook out at my son's house. The grandkids had gone to a parade and were happy waving the flags they received.
ReplyDeleteWe ususally just celebrate Memorial Day with a BBQ but this year we were on vacation in the Keys and celebrated with a bi-plane ride over Key West.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see this webinar!! Thanks for a great Give A Way also!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a GREAT webinar!!! :)
