How to Create Elegant Gift Packages For Less!

Today, I am going to show you how to use your Cricut machine and a few supplies to create beautiful, elegant packages quickly, easily and inexpensively.

I had a number of exact same gifts to wrap and I had to come up with a way to make them look good, while not being too time-consuming or expensive to create.

First of all, I found this beautiful gift wrap paper at Michaels in the $2.50 bin.  Michaels has some great inexpensive wrapping paper now in those bins that are suitable for men and women.

I also picked up some white satin ribbon to wrap around the packages.

Next, I used my Cricut Pink Expression (on sale for $179 right now through Feb. 6, 1013) and the Teresa Collins Cricut Sophisticated cartridge to create elegant tags as a focal point for the package.

The Teresa Collins Cricut Sophisticated cartridge has the most easy to cut designs on it that are always eye-catching.

I cut these monogram tags at 4" using black and white cardstock, with the monograms of the recipients. I wrote a quick message on the back, glue dotted on the bow and I was done.
Many of the cartridges have a tag function to them and it's so easy to cut them out to use as a focal point for your gifts.

Do you use monograms and/or tags for your gift wrapping?  I'd love to hear what you do!

Don't forget that I am giving away the My Creative Time Valentine's Stamp and Die Set release - you can enter the contest HERE.

Regina - I'd love to hear what your favorite tags are!

Annette- These cut really well. It does take awhile, though. I cut 8 of them at high speed and with the top layer, it took 3-4 minutes. I just went and did something else. But I had no rips!

Pam - Thank you so much!!

Joan - you are always such a sweetie!

  19. love the monogram tag! I have made tags with some of the other carts, especially for Christmas, but never a monogram. I love the font on Art Deco, so I may give that one a try. The Folk Art Festival is also really pretty. Thank you so much for all the inspiration that you provide, Joy. BethAnn M.

  32. These are beautiful packages! I had planned on making several different Christmas-themed tags in December. But, I was down to the wire with travelling plans, so monograms won out. That being said, I still went all out to customize them!
It's so good to see your crafty self again!
