These are so quick and easy to make - my favorite kind of project! It's also another good one to do with the kids. My daughter is actually in today's video, as she helped me make the ornaments. We had a wonderful time doing this!
The best part is this project only requires five items:
- glass ornaments from the craft store
- Martha Stewart fine glitter (can buy with coupon!)
- Pledge Future Shine Floor wax with blue top from Walmart - see video for picture of bottle (you can also use cheap hairspray, I've been told)
- plastic wrap
- ribbon/Cricut cuts
I decorated the red ornament above using my favorite cut from the Cricut Winter Woodland cartridge, the word art "Joy". You could also decorate the ornaments with any of the tags from that cart.
I owe this idea to the website Stampers Quest - thank you!

I am done with shopping early this year and it is such a relief!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely not done with my Christmas shopping.
ReplyDeleteI made some of these for the gals in the office several years ago and they are still pulling them out. I used the ornament shaped Coca cola bottles and they worked great. And they are plastic, so no worries about breaking.
ReplyDeleteheavens no. i really need to get into the spirit cause time is running out.

ReplyDeleteLilMsTiff
Love these ornaments! Such a fun project. Almost done with my shopping! Just a few small items left to get....and a LOT of wrapping to do! :)
ReplyDeleteSince I live in Florida and my son and his wife live in San Diego, and my daughter and her husband live in Dallas, Amazon and Bed Bath and Beyond online were my main sites for gifts. I just have a couple of little things to get for friends, but that's it. Not too bad this year. Happy Holidays to everyone!
ReplyDeleteAm I done with shopping??? Ha! I am still in Christmas denial! LOL! I am all decorated, but every time I see the tree, I say "oh my gosh... there's Christmas tree in my living room!" It's still not sinking in that it is only 11 days until Christmas Eve. I plan on finishing my shopping by next week. :)
ReplyDeleteBTW... I just love making those ornaments with my girls. It is so easy, yet they turn out beautifully.
Happy Holidays Joy!!
Loved the video - your daughter is so poised and well spoken. I can tell she's already a veteran crafter. I made these ornaments with my grandkids at Thanksgiving. They loved doing it. We used large and small glitter - both worked great - and some old floor wax that I had had for years - maybe decades! It also worked like a chsrm. Now I need to try adding some Cricut cuts to the outside like you did. Thanks so much for a great tutorial.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty ornament! So awesome that your daughter was such a wonderful helper!
ReplyDeleteI am not done with my shopping. I always am sure to take care of my niece (whose birthday is the 22nd) and my two friends who have December birthdays and then I scramble to get the rest of the shopping done. I work with the afterschool program for my school district, and I'd love to make these with the kids.
