Today's project uses the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos™ Colors to create a water colored effect background. I always see these cute canvases people have made and wonder how they get those great watercolorish backgrounds. So, I thought I would try out these products to make my canvas background.
I started by using the set of Mix and Match Craft Gelatos™ Colors shown above. I put the Guava, Bubble Gum, Lavender and Red Cherry gelatos all over the canvas in a random pattern.
Then, using the provided brush and water, I blended the colors together.
And kept blending.
Ta-da! That was quick and easy and best of all, no mess!
I added some ribbon around it.
Then, using the Cricut Straight from the Nest cartridge, I cut this birdcage and the "fly" word art and applied it to the front. I used glue to adhere the birdcage to the front.
Check out the video below to see exactly how to do this:
Pros: It was super easy and quick to get a nice watercolor type effect.
Colors are vibrant.
Not messy at all.
Cons: Could not get the stamp to work with the Gelatos™ Colors and give a nice image.
Overall, I love the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos™ Colors and will be using these a lot in the future to create gorgeous, muted backgrounds.

Yay, a video! Thanks for introducing us to something new! My little one loves to paint. But, the set up is a bigger production that the painting process. And, the clean-up take twice as long as her projects. I will definitely be looking into this. (For me too!)
ReplyDeleteI just visited their site...neat products. Congratulations on your "ambassadorship"!
ReplyDeleteSuper cool idea. Regarding the stamped image issue ~ what if you stamped the image with pigment ink and then used the gelatos after? Just wondering if that would work.

ReplyDeleteVery cool! Enjoyed the demo. One thing though. I was listening with headphones so I wouldn't wake hubby and had to turn volume all the way up to hear you speak. Then when you were done and the ending music came on it was EXTREMELY loud and hurt my ears. :(
ReplyDeleteLoved the video and also loved the fathers day bags. Hopefully I can get one done this week before going to the lakes. Thanks for all you do.
