I discovered an easy way to test out paper choices in the Cricut Craft Room (a free, online design tool) by using the color selector. This should save time trying to figure out what papers and colors you want to use.
Check out the video below (if you can't see the video, click HERE):
Another tip for using the colors is that you can enter an exact color using the RGB (red, green and blue) color codes (see below):
Here are some charts I found on the internet to help you find the colors you want:
Cloform's List of 500 colors
Stampin Up! Colors by Krystal Kuckenbaker
Of course, you can always use the color picker, by clicking on parts of the circle of colors, as shown above.

Joy - I am really excited to check out your videos on the Cricut Craft Room. I too have been playing around and finally got up the nerve to cut something yesterday : ) My questions, which I hope you will address is . . . Is there a way to cut an image in half. Let's say I want a border of snowflakes down the left hand side of my layout. I only want half the snowflakes in the border. I want the left hand side of the boarder to be a straight line so it lays up against the side of the page. I could use the other half on the right hand side. If the image falls outside the cutting area, will the cricut only cut what is in the cutting area? This is one way that I have thought might solve my question.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Joy thank you for the information using the craftroom. I read through the tutorial but I am a see it done type of person. Please continue to do craftroom videos.
ReplyDeleteThank you

This is something I LOVE using! Great tip to share with those who don't use the Cricut Craft room enough... I LOVE using the colors... it helps me decided what papers I should use.... :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Joy - it was very clear and helpful and does make looking at the different items so much easier but to actually match them to the colour of the papers we'll be using, is brilliant. Thanks for taking the time.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for such a great video!! This will save paper, time, AND frustration :O)

ReplyDeleteI was trying to make the bows and could not figure what I was doing wrong - after watching the video I see that I was putting it on relative and that was why they kept coming out the same size. So now I have to practice some more TSF

I haven't had a lot of time to play in the craft room yet but your videos are going to make things easier when I do. Thanks a bunch.
ReplyDeleteThank you for explaining - very clearly, I might add - the order of the layers. I've been right-clicking the images and using the bring to front and send to back commands. Obviously, this has it's limitations if the image has several layers. I also learned from your previous tutorial where to set the image size. Keep the tutorials coming, I'm learning so much!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the info!
ReplyDeletethanks for helping us out with all the cricut things. thanks for all you do and share. 1205love@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful feature and thanks so much for shareing this series with us.
ReplyDeleteWow! I was kinda lost.Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreat info! I have been trying to group on a regular basis and never could. Also, the color fill is great, I didn't have a clue what that was for, but figured it had something to do with the Imagine.
ReplyDeleteGreat videos!
ReplyDeleteI'm new to the cricut and the craft room, and am learning by trial and error. I have the Personal cutter, so the 12x12 projects have to be sized down to fit 'for now'...lol.
I do have a question that I haven't seen an answer to anywhere. When the craft room puts up the new freebies on Thursday, where do we find instructions? I got the 4th of July luminaria today, and had no idea of the sizing or where the foldable frill goes. Can you help me out with that? I'm sure I'm not the only newbie with that problem.
thanks so much,
Renae
