Latest from the Craft and Hobby Association convention going on right now!
It looks like there are some fun new products out by Provocraft. The new big machine is called the Cricut Expression 2: Anniversary edition. Here are the first details out about it:
- It operates through wi-fi, so no more pesky plugs for those of you using Design Studio
- It will be able to use Imagine cartridges (not sure how that works without the printing part...remains to be seen)
- It is digital and offers the ability to save settings so you can make a setting for vinyl and save that. Blade is still a manual adjustment.
No word on pricing just yet...
Also, they are launching an online designing site called Cricut Craftroom, available for either PC or Mac. At this time, the site access will be free. I am sure you will have to own the cartridges to cut out your designs.
Finally, how about that Yudu Cardshop, first seen on HSN on January 20? Here's a peek at that and a link to the site, Cricut Yudu Cardshop.
What about new Cricut toys? Check these guys out! For sale soon on the cricut.com website.
Finally, straight from the PC folks:
This year at CHA Provo Craft nominated four products to the Innovation Product Showcase. Yudu CardShop is currently listed among the top 20 new products and the winners will be announced at the show. We are very proud of Yudu CardShop and look forward to demonstrating it and showing it off this year at CHA.
All four of our nominated products will be highlighted on CHA TV – Cricut Imagine, Cricut Cake Mini, YourStory Photo and Yudu CardShop. CHA will be webcasting the hottest products live from the Show floor for 2 hours a day. CHA-TV is a free webcast portal for the craft & hobby industry. Two-time Emmy Award winner and CHA’s National Spokesperson Terri O will be conducting the daily interviews from 11 am – 12 pm and 1 pm – 2 pm PT live from the CHA-TV Broadcast booth on the Show floor. You'll need to download the free CHA-TV Facebook app at http://apps.facebook.com/craftandhobby or view it live on the web at http://www.linqto.com/rooms/craftandhobby/.
I wasn't able to go to CHA this time, family commitments and illness recovery prohibited me from attending. But, as I find things out, I'll keep you updated!

That figures...as soon as I buy one machine they come out with bigger & better. : ) Oh well, by the time I'm ready to buy again at least the prices will have come down. Thanks for the updates.
ReplyDeleteOh Joy that must be so hard for you to be at home. Thank you for keeping us up dated on all the goings on. I still am in love with my expression and haven't come near doing all that I can do with it and my Gypsy. I just wish they would come out with a IPad size screen for my Gypsy. It is so hard to see everything so little.
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping us posted! Looks like some neat things are coming soon. Hope your feeling better!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lot of great new things to drain my wallet! But I think I want the Cricut toy first! Thank you for the info!
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks very exciting. My daughter and I spend time yesterday making Valentine Cards with her Cricut. So much fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the updates even if you couldn't be there in person. I am just learning how to use the E that I have so I'm definitely not ready for a newer version!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear more.

Delama
I so love the photos and idea sharing, thank U
ReplyDeleteCraftroom looks very exciting! Wonder when it will be up and running???
ReplyDeleteinteresting... I just hope they don't end up stopping to produce cartridges for the expression. I don't need all the fancy printing from the image or icing techniques from the cake... I like the simplicity of the expression- anyone can use it
ReplyDeleteWhat are the differences going to be between the expression 2 vs the anniversary edition? Also, when it launches on HSN, will that likely be a good price, or OVERpriced? I don't buy that much on HSN so I don't know.
ReplyDeleteDo you know when will they start selling cricut expr.2?
ReplyDeleteGreat Site...I will be checking back!

ReplyDeleteWow - love the new Cricut machine - I've almost worn out my old little one and would love to win this one.
ReplyDeleteI love both my cricut expression and e2. I really like to design on my gypsy, and cut when I am working on a project, however, with all the bugs in e2 with updates, e2 is stopping when cutting with gypsy! Even after updates done by provocraft. It is so much to work with something thatched glitches thatvare fixed. And in don't plan on hooking up to my computer as that is why ingotbthe gypsy. It has all mybsaved projects and cards.
ReplyDeleteE2 has a bug and it is being worked on and I'll have to wait for it so I can craft again.
