Happy Father's Day! It's bittersweet here as it's my first Father's Day without my dad - whimper.

Just in case you missed this info:

Close to My Heart has announced the product retirement list for the Spring Summer 2014 catalog. These items are on a "while supplies last" type basis so once things sell out, they are GONE!

Below are a few stamp sets that are retiring that are some of my favorites. I am sorry to see these go. But these are not all the stamp sets - there are more here.  Also, paper, inks, chipboard items, the bracket frame and more are retiring!

  3. I very well remember the first Father's Day without my Dad. It was a rough day for me. My heart goes out to you.
    For summer salads, I have a spinach and strawberry salad I make that is yummy!

  4. I make salads that include red potato salad & pasta salad.For red potato salad from our garden I used: red potatoes, green onions & herbs. For pasta salad from our garden I used: tomatoes, onions & herbs.

  8. I make spaghetti salad in the summer. One pound of spaghetti, mix in Italian dressing, a cucumber, tomato, and salad suprerme. Serve cold.

  10. I love cheese, bacon bits, tomatoes, & croutons on my salad. I some times have a green pepper and some black olives :) YUM!!!!

  13. I don't have any great recipe ideas, just use whatever I have handy. I'm just glad the choices are better in the spring/summer. It's been almost 30 years since my first father's day without my dad and I still remember what it felt like. I'm sorry :'(

  14. I always make homemade macaroni salad in the summer. One of our favorites. Also, I love pasta salads to take to picnics (no mayo so I don't have to worry about it spoiling).

  15. A favorite is Tuna macaroni salad and we have this a couple times a month during the Summer.

  16. My mother's favorite salad is: 8 oz. container of cool whip, 12 oz. container of cottage cheese and 1 package of (dry) orange jello and 1 well-drained can of crushed pineapple. Easy peasy! Thanks for sharing your time, talents, ideas, and coupons.

  19. This time of year in South La. is Creole tomato time. Nothing is needed but a little salt and pepper. These tomatoes are awesome. I love t6he new cartridge give away. Thank you for the chance to win.

  20. we love fresh "garden" salad! Sliced cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, peppers, onions, with a zesty Italian dressing. Good as a left over, also. And, tomatoes, peppers, onions, cukes, sliced, fresh basil with a balsamic, garlic dressing. It is so good.

  26. I like to make deviled eggs for summer parties. Well chilled and kept out of the sun. My husband likes coleslaw so I try keep so of that on hand for him.
