[Video]Cricut Explore Box and FREE Stamps

HSN will begin selling the new Cricut Explore Die Cutting Machine at 12:01 am Wednesday, February 12, 2014.

Here are the times to watch:
12:01 am-2 am, 5-6 am, 8-9 am, 10-12 pm, 2-4 pm, 7-8 pm, 10-11 pm (all times Eastern)

Want to see what's in the box?  Check out my Cricut Explore Out of the Box Video below (or click HERE if you can't see it):

Here's a link to all the detailed info you need to know about the Cricut Explore HERE (scroll to see the white sheets) and HERE.

Want the cliff notes on the Cricut Explore and what it does right now?
Here's the basics:

1) Cricut Explore is a new die cutting machine that can cut materials up to 1/8" thick, including leather, chipboard, felt, vellum, copy paper and more (55+ materials). It also has scoring (with an additional score tool you must purchase) and writing capabilities (comes with pen).

2) To use the Cricut Explore, you will need to use the free, online based Design Space software.  It only works with this software. It only works if you are connected to the internet.

3) Any cartridges you have linked or digital cartridges you have in the Cricut Craft Room will automatically be available in Design Space. There is a slot in the machine for you to link your cartridge to Design Space but you will not be cutting from that.  This machine requires a computer and an internet connection.

4) Design Space offers a image rental program of $9.99 a month for up to 25,000 images (not licensed images). You can cancel at any time - it is a month by month program. You do not need to use the rental program - you can still just use your cartridge images for free. You can also purchase images for 99 cents apiece or in image sets (cartridge sets, if you will) for a variety of prices.

5) You will be able to use all the fonts on your computer, as well as any SVG files you may own (and other file types) for free. No rental needed. WOO HOO!

  3. No, I think Cricut fell short with making it only work with new software & Internet connection.

  5. Thanks for all the information on the new Cricut - I will watch, but I'm not in the market for another electronic cutter. Especially if I can only use it online. Thanks for the chance to win a cartridge!

  6. I am watching HSN right now! WoW what a machine!!! Oh what fun it would be to play with this Cricut!! Thank you for this wonderful giveaway!!

  7. I did watch it, but I didn't purchase it. I'm rather unsure if I want to purchase it, since I just purchased the E2 last Christmas. I'm unsure about the required sync and need to be connected to the internet. It sounds like we will be unable to use it in rural areas. It is a rather empressive machine. I look forward to your videos in the future. Thank you for the wonderful giveaway btw! I have that one on my wishlist. :-)

  8. Thank you for the out-of-the-box tour! I watched HSN. Machine looks very impressive. I sure am tempted to buy it. I was very happy with my E which died in November; but, I know of the problems Cricut had with the Imagine. I hope Cricut got it right this time. I only wish it could be used offline.

  9. P.S. Thank you for the opportunity to win the cartridge. I signed up for your email club.

  10. Thanks for the video and now you have a machine that you can't use until you get the software. Do you know when it will be ready for use? I also bought the Explore but am having second thoughts that things won't work like it was promised.

  11. I think I "need" a Cricut Explore, unfortunately it will be a while before they are available in Australia. thanks for sharing all the wonderful ideas on your website, I enjoy reading all of your posts.

  12. I watched your video and also watch the Explore launch last night. hope to be able to buy it some day

  13. I did watch the launch. I hope they provide the software right away...I know a few beta testers are using it already. Loved your unboxing! I do have a question: "If you own cartridges and use them in the Design Space, you don't have to sign up for the subscription?" I am thinking the subscription is to use the images in the library....but sometimes I'm kinda "thick" and need things spelled out. Thanks for your videos and blog posts...you are one of my "go-to" gals for info and ideas.

  14. I must have missed the launch, but thank you for creating this video!

  17. we don't have cable so I couldn't but I've been learning more about it, looks amazing! I"m not rushing in to buy it just yet though as I'm not one of these people that has to have the latest and greatest and my Expression still has a bit of life in it yet!!

  18. So excited. Can't wait to learn more.

  19. Thanks for sharing your out-of-the-box video. You are always so helpful! I have been watching HSN, and it surely is a temptation, but still planning to wait and see how it works for the masses! LOL That said, it seems absolutely amazing! Looking forward to seeing how you like it as you use it more and more.

  20. No I don't plan to watch. I just received a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas and I don't want to fall in love with the Cricut. lol.

  21. Watching the HSN presentation. It seems like a wonderful deal but I already have 2 Cricuits
    love this cartridge..

  22. Thanks for the info! I recorded the HSN shows and plan to watch later today to see the Explore in action.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I did watch it and while it looks like a good machine, I'm still not sold. I love my Cricut Expression and I do go out to crops and bring my machine and my Gypsy. If I got this one I'd have to bring my computer too and hope they have internet service. The last 3 day I went to you had to pay an additional $20 at the hotel just to have internet use. Maybe one day when my expression wears out but for now I think I'll pass.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I did watch the HSN launching and debating on whether to purchase the Explore. Once you get your software up and running can you please show to to link a cartridge to software for use with the machine? Also, make a project with your cartridge (s) so can see what it looks like in the Design Space? Thank you for the video of your new baby (the Explore) & a chance to win this wonderful cartridge!! Thanks in advance....Shennita

  25. I watched and was impressed, but the internet must was the deterrent. I'm enjoying my Expression and it does all I need.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks for the video. I am with CA Scrapper. I have been disappointed in the past with Provo Craft and found it was a waste of money. I am just not sure if it is worth the purchase.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I will be watching and learning what I can. So far the only drawback I see is the need for an internet connection. If it was more like the old design studio I would be more interested. Thanks for the opportunity to win a cartridge.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I might watch it, but I recently purchased my cricut expression 6 months ago, so I won't be buying another machine anytime soon. Hope to win the cartridge - with 6 little grandchildren, it will be used often!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks for the 411 on the Explore. I bought one last night and am very excited to see if it is as "magic" as is being advertised. Would love to win this cart, thanks for the chance.

  30. I did watch the HSN launch but was not impressed with this machine as I already own three Cricuts and a Silhouette Cameo. I so love the Cameo as I can combine cut n print with paper pieceing and there was never a mention of print n cut with this machine also do not like the fact that you have to be tied to the internet with this machine. Will be interesting to see if Provo Craft follows through with any of their promises. Thanks Joy for a chance to win this cartridge.

  31. 35 minutes to go before I can see the HSN presentation of the new Explore. I can hardly wait to see it, and what it can do. Watched your video, also. I'm impressed so far.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I won't be able to see the launch of the Explore on HSN, but I am interested in hearing feedback from those who've had a chance to really use it. Thanks for the chance to win a great cartridge.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't have a TV or cable so I was unable to watch it. I'll probably watch the video they put up after the fact.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I did watch the launch. I would have loved to have this machine for all my svg's BUT, it needs WiFi. While I do have it at home, I would not have access when we go on our winter trip every year. So I feel that since Provocraft is being domineering that this machine cannot be used as a stand alone, it will not benefit my needs.Pout.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I bought the cricut explore today, I own 2 other cricut machines, I haven't linked them, don't want to, would I have to if I want to use my old catridges on the new cricut explore? Can I opt out and say no?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The Explore will not work from the cartridge. The cartridge slot is for linking purposes only. You have to be online to use the Explore, it can not be used as a stand alone.

  39. Didn't watch the show last night but ordered the Explore this morning. The cartridge that you are giving away my grand children would love. When they come to visit they always want to do something on the circuit. Wait till they see the explore and all the neat things it can do.

  46. Watched on HSN earlier and not liking internet only use. I will wait until people get their machines and see if is good or not. I love my silhouette. I have the Cricut Create and like that.Had the Expressions and E2 and replaced with the Cameo. Thanks for the info on the new machine. They hyped up the machine and the finished projects so it is hard to tell what it was about. Thanks again, you are awesome!!!

  71. Hi Joy,
Love that I can always get solid info from you. Like how you are stressing (unlike HSN that barely mentions it) that this is an internet only machine and that you are properly referring to the "subscription" as a rental program. PC would be wise to follow your lead on this and avoid returns and disappointment when people figure it out. Look forward to seeing what you are able to do with the machine in the coming weeks!

  72. Thanks for the video, I did watch the HSN launch and ordered it right on the spot (thank god for flex pay :) ) I am so excited for the ability to upload my own images and svg's

  80. Hi Joy,
I am not sure which question to answer to enter to win the cartridge, so I am going to answer both. I DID order the Cricut EXPLORE! At first I wasn't going to but I saw the HSN presentation and all the lovely projects Anna and her team created with it, plus I was impressed with the pre-loaded projects that I just have to push a button for! I can't wait to get it.

I do have pets, I have 3 dogs and even though its not right to play favorites, I do have a favorite. She is a Chihuahua and her name is Latte, yup, just like the coffee drink, because I love coffee! She is a rescue dog, we adopted her from the shelter and she is the best dog ever. And out of all of my family, she loves me the best because we picked each other at the shelter. Never knew I could love a doggy so much!

Thanks Joy and have a great week!
