[Video]Sugar and Spice CTMH Artbooking Layout

A fun and quick baby girl layout from the new Close to My Heart Artbooking cartridge!
The best part about this layout is that you set the dial ONE TIME, at 11" and all the pieces come out sized perfectly.

Even though this layout is not one of the pre-set ones, it still all comes together easily.
Do NOT use real dial size for this project.

I double layered the "sugar and spice" using green and pink cardstock so it had a little dimension, almost like shadowing.
I used the CTMH Chantilly paper pack for the layout.
The Versamat from Close to My Heart made it easy to line up the elements of the layout precisely.  You'll see in the video how I used it to do that.  It also can be flipped over for a nice stamping base.

To see how to assemble the layout and create the yellow background to the overlay, check out the video below (click HERE if you can't see the video):

Question from yesterday:

Why does your Cricut Expression cut sideways in the video?  I have an Imagine machine and it doesn't do that.

Well, the Imagine is laid out differently - the blade starts in the upper left corner and goes across.  On the Expression, the blade starts in the upper right corner and goes down. The only thing to remember is what way your machine cuts so that you put the paper in the right place.  It is confusing, though.

  6. Ahhhh it can't be close to the time to start making Christmas cards...but I know hiding my head in the sand won't make it go away. I have already made several but always open for new and fabulous Joy ideas...although I am all confused as to which CTMH cartridge to now purchase?? I was set on Art Philosophy but now this new one has me second guessing...why do you do this to me Joy?? Guess I will just have to decide but one of them is my Aug. purchase!!

  9. Oh and with regard to the Cricut always cutting sideways...just a little thing I learned from ruining a million things.... is that if you turn your book of the cartridge you are using with the spirals to the left and sort of imagine (not the machine) it going in...you will see which way it is going to feed in and how and which way it will cut so you know which way to place small scraps or so you can place patterned paper going the right way. Maybe y'all knew this but it helped me once I started doing it...just an FYI. Happy Day...Gabby
