You are the Best Tag using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft

Today, I used another set of the fabulous Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products.  This time, I used the Stamper's Big Brush Gift Set to make my resist background on my chipboard flourish and the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos™ Colors to make another muted background.  I am loving the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos™ Colors because they make it really easy to make these muted backgrounds.
Here's an up close view of the flourish.  I used one of the provided clear stamps that come in the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos™ Colors packs for the resist technique.
So, how did I do the resist technique on the chipboard flourish?  Take a look below:
I started with Versa Mark ink and the clear flower stamp that comes in the red set of the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos™ Colors.  I randomly stamped onto the chipboard flourish.
Next, I sprinkled white embossing powder on the the chipboard flourish and then tapped off the excess.
Using a stamper's heat gun, I heated the powder until it became shiny.  Make sure to wave the heat gun and not concentrate it in one place for too long as it will warp and burn.
You can see the raised embossed area above.
Next, using the Stamper's Big Brush Gift Set brush in red, I just started applying it.  The tip allows you to get into small crevices.  Or you can use the side of the brush to cover large areas at once (see below).

Next, I started adding more colors.  When I do the next step, the blending will happen and it won't look so divided up.
Taking a kleenex, napkin or paper towel, start rubbing and blotting the excess ink.  Now that flower pattern comes through!
The final product!

All in all, I liked the Stamper's Big Brush Gift Set.  They pens are easy to use and are very juicy.  I love how easy and quick it was to cover this chipboard flourish. I was pleased with how the resist technique came out.

Pros:  Lots of great coverage.
Pen nibs are very fine, allowing for placing color in tight corners and along edges.  Very useful            for using with chipboard shapes.
They blend nicely, are waterproof and don't bleed through your papers.  They are also archival.

Cons:  I wanted to use these with my rubber and clear stamps to apply different colors to my stamps but I could not get a good image to come through.  There may be a trick I am unaware of that makes these work well with stamps, but I do not know what it is.  I even tried breathing on the stamp right before stamping to moisten it but it still wouldn't work.

  3. Hi! Design Memory Craft here. There actually is a trick to adhere the ink to the stamp. All you need to do is prime your stamp with an eraser. Try it! You might be surprised:)
