New Cricut Mini Machine!

INTRODUCING
Cricut Mini™

Cricut Mini is a small, lightweight, ultra-portable way to make almost anything you want – out of many different types of materials, including thick and thin paper, fabric, vinyl, magnetic material, craft foil, and lots more. With Cricut Mini, it’s easier than ever to make projects and be more creative!
  • Small, portable, and lightweight for ultra space savings.
  • Works with any computer PC or MAC with a standard wireless or wired Internet connection.
  • Simply plug it in, turn it on, connect to Cricut Craft Room – the online design tool where you can see and design with every Cricut cartridge – and start making projects..
  • Cuts up to 8.5” x 12” paper and other materials. Cut small shapes and fonts from ¼” to larger cuts up to 11½”!

Provocraft announced this new machine yesterday at the Craft and Hobby Association trade show.  I can't wait to check it out!

Cricut Mini will be priced at $119 MSRP and is compatible with Cricut Craft Room and/or the Gypsy.  It needs to be hooked up to either of those to work.

Here's a video by the Craft Critique site (click HERE if not able to see):

Craft Critique has a very thorough article about the Cricut Mini that you can read by clicking HERE.

Also, Craft Critique is covering the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) show and they have tons of fun pictures and articles.  Lots of great eye candy!

If you want to see TONS of photos from CHA, check out Christine Urias' photos HERE!  Christine runs the site Scrap Time and also has a huge podcast show on iTunes.  She is fabulous and has some great write ups on her site Scrap Time.

They are doing tons of make 'n takes and classes at CHA with the Cricut using the new project and event cartridges, as well as one of my favorites, Sentimentals.  My favorites of the new project cartridges are the Flower Shoppe, Frames and Sweet Tooth Boxes - check out some of those projects I've made using them:

  13. Sorry, NOT a fan if new mini. Don't see the point since there STILL is no CCR! Maybe PC needs to rethink existing products before unveiling new machines. I'll stick with my Expression.

  14. I have the original and the expression - have no use for a mini. Think they should put their expertise into making cartridges etc. at a more reasonable price and have more lites.
Come out with something new and not machines.

  15. I'm VERY excited about the mini!!!

  16. Awesome idea! Making it more travel friendly! It does stink that you have to have the gypsy though! I don't have enough carts to justify the need for one, so I've yet to get one!

  17. It's good to know I could hook it up to my Gypsy, rather than to a computer. I love the frame made with it!!

  18. Very cute machine. I am loving all of your projects using the Flower Shoppe flowers!

  19. I love the projects you made! I'm on the fence about the new machine...I have an expression - so I don't think I need it.

  21. Soooooooooo many new products. Lot's of fun stuff. Thanks for all the picture links of CHA. Love the make and take projects. Hope someone does a video on Flower Shoppe cart. Would love to see all the flower combos that can be made. Booklet is not very clear. Curious as to how the centers are created.
Looks like everyone is having a wonderful time at CHA. Wish I could be there. Maybe one of these days.

  23. I'm confused.... so you no longer need to buy cartridges if you get a mini? Everything I'm reading about it says it just needs the CCR or a Gypsy to cut everything.

  24. I am so happy to hear about this one!!

  25. to anonymous:
You still need the cartridges to load to your gypsy and ccr(which the room doesn't actually work yet) so basically this machine is just a waste of money until it does or if you have a gypsy and load everything to it. Seems pointless. Why not fix the problems with the software and promised upgrades before they add yet another machine?

The new Cricut machine sounds interesting, but I think I will wait and see how it goes. I still want the Imagine so this machine will have to wait anyway:) I love your projects and my favorite is the frame. This cart is on my wish list. TFS
