New Christmas with the Cricut Blog Launched Today!

I am thrilled to announce the launching of an additional brand new blog, Christmas with the Cricut!

Christmas with the Cricut is a joint effort between myself and Tammy from the Creative Critters Cricut blog and Melanie from the Courtney Lane Designs blog. Our goal with the Christmas with the Cricut blog is to provide our readers with 6 days a week of inspiration in using their Cricut to create gorgeous Holiday cards, home decor items, gift packaging and tags, layouts and crafty gifts. Then, we will have a giveaway on Sundays!

Each week will feature two different cartridges - one of the Christmas cartridges paired up with an additional cartridge to create that week's selection of items. There will be videos, tutorials and freebies!

Head over to our new blog by clicking Christmas with the Cricut to get all the details and register for our first giveaway, a Cricut Noel Solutions Cartridge, to get you in that Christmas spirit! See pictures of that cartridge below. We will pick a winner on Sunday, August 2!! Can't wait to see you over there!

Greetings from Alaska!

My husband and I have taken a whirlwind trip to Alaska for the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday! Can you believe there is even scrapbooking available in the Denali National Forest? I couldn't either and then I saw this sign on the cutest little shop (over left hand doorway):

I'll post some more photos tomorrow when I am back in the heat of Texas...

Want to hook your computer to your Cricut WIRELESSLY? Read more!

My Design Studio software is on a desk top downstairs and the Cricut is upstairs. Everytime I want to use Design Studio, I have to bring the Cricut downstairs and set it up. So, it's hard to get a lot of cutting with DS done.

But earlier, today, I got a link to a blog by Jill (who has gorgeous cards, designs and files on her blog - very talented and creative!!) that tells how to connect your Cricut and your computer through a wireless network configuration!

Click HERE to read all about it and many thanks to Jill and her hubby because I can't wait to get this device and try it out!

New Blog Launched EARLY!

My new blog look has launched early! That's because my blog designer, Summer, is basically amazingly fast and fantastic! I love my new blog! Summer was great to work with - making as many changes as I wanted and very promptly responding to emails and doing previews so I could see where we were! I highly recommend her! She also created Nilda's challenge blog, The Cuttlebug Spot. You can see more of Summer's work HERE! She offers many different packages in all different price ranges, so she is able to accomodate any budget.

Now, even though the blog has launched, you still have a chance to win the Home Decor cartridge. See THIS POST to leave a message and sign up to receive updates to the blog! You have until Sunday at noon to leave a comment on that post (NOT this one) and receive a chance to win. Obviously, now, you don't need to guess an animal so just leave a comment about your favorite scrapbooking tool.

New Cricut Cartridges - A Child's Year, Ashlyn's Alphabet and Stamping Solutions small preivew

Here are the Stamping Solutions images per Provocraft: (Click on images to see larger)

Remember that Solutions cartridges have fewer images and thus fewer feature keys. I love this cartridge - I especially like the owl, the bird, and all the word art! This is amazing!

Next is A Child's Year (click on images to see them larger):

I especially like the monogram feature with the scalloped circle shadow and also all the cards on this cartridge. At first it just looks like lots of old fashioned silhouettes but there is a piano, violin, apple (which makes into a cute card), some birds, etc. There is a lot more here than it initially looked like when they first announced this.

Finally, Ashlyn's Alphabet (click on image to see larger):

If you look at the overlay carefully, you will see a function key called ICON that looks like a teapot. It also can be shadowed (ICON SHADOW key) - I can't wait to see what cute things are hidden in there. I bet there will be some great stuff!

MonsterPod Mini-tripod holder sticks to anything!

Check this thing out! It is amazing! Per the website:

If there were a tripod equivalent to the hoverboard, the Monsterpod would be it.

What is it? Only the coolest freaking, gravity-defying, mind-boggling tripod ever created! Monsterpod is a Viscoelastic Polymer-based tripod that's the stuff of science fiction. This marvel sticks to and peels right off just about anything.

Really, we mean anything. We tried this thing on brick walls, trees, marble, cement, steel, sheet rock, wire fences, metal poles, plate glass windows, upside down, in the heat, in the cold, on furniture, street lamps, and on a car. It sticks to over 1,000 things, and it's the closest thing to magic we've seen.

Just screw your camera (up to 20 ounces) onto the adjustable pivoting tripod mount, then use your hands to mold the Monsterpod to any surface or object. It'll hold its position from anywhere for 1-10 minutes (even longer, in our experience.) When you're finished, gently peel the little guy off. Dirt can simply be washed away with water!

(We're seriously starting to wonder if this is a gift from a distant civilization, far advanced from our own. The eerie orange disc does resemble a UFO...)

Holds any camera up to 20oz (560 grams).
Sticks to over 1,000 surfaces and objects, even upside down and peels right off.
Tilts and rotates to any angle with pivoting tripod mount.
Molds to hold almost any surface or object.
Waterproof and dirt resistant.
Fits in your pocket.
Works over and over. Simply wash it with water when it gets dirty.

One for $30, three for $80 and the carrying case is $9.99. Shipping is $6 per order and ships in 24 hour.

And look, my birthday is coming up this month....maybe my husband or mom will see this post and order one....hint...hint....;-)!!

This is SO EXCITING!

Both Linda, from the Just A Scappin blog (click HERE) and I got featured on the Cricut golden ticket blog! I am so excited! It was for her fabulous Simply Sweet projects (see HERE) and my patriotic word book, from THIS POST! Woo Hoo!

Click HERE to read all about it!

Finally, a new video! Pocket Card video using Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge

I went a little crazy with the music - I just started adding all kinds!! Hopefully, it wasn't too scattered! Oh, well. Just trying to make it fun! Hope you enjoy it!
