3rd June Hello Thursday Cricut Cartridge Release & Giveaway!

Can you believe we have one more Cricut Cartridge release this month? Whew! It's been busy!

Let's start off with two giveaways!

1) Cricut Cherry Limeade Lite Cartridge (one of my all time favorite fonts!):

2) Cricut Botanicals Lite Cartridge (so elegant!):

How can you win?

1) Leave a comment letting me know your favorite of all the new releases below.
2) Subscribe or follow the blog.

That's it!  Winner will be announced next Thursday, June 30, 2011.  Winners have two weeks to claim their prize.

Here are the new cartridges:

1) Cricut Princess Party - This is a new type of cartridge called an "Events" cartridge.  The idea behind it is that you would have everything you need to decorate for an event or party.  So, typically, that would include 1-2 invitations, 1-2 treat boxes, regular images, banner, envelope, drink wrapper, placecard, nametag, etc.

As soon as I saw this 3-D shoe, I knew I wanted to cut it!  I wanted it to be a formal shoe, hence the pearls and the flower decoration.  Making and decorating this shoe would be a fun activity at a Princess party or sleepover.

2) Cricut Frames Cartridge - The second type of cartridge released today is a "Projects" cartridge.  These cartridges have type of image (subway art, flowers, etc.) in many forms.  This Frames cartridge has all kinds of layered frames and also easel stands for the frames.

I chose to make my frame into a card.  I also used a flower from the new Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge for decoration (more on that below).

3) Cricut Flower Shoppe Cartridge - LOVE THIS CARTRIDGE!  I have used this on many projects so far and love how the 3-D flowers turn out.  I will be showing a video on how to make these so keep an eye out.  It's really easy and quick!

This elegant Anniversary card was so quick to put together.  Using a low temp glue gun and some different layers, I made the flower below in about five minutes (including cutting time).  The flower below is my first one!  That's how easy it is!  I planned to just try it out and test it but when this turned out so well, I decided to use it!  I did run the layers through the Cuttlebug before gluing it together.

4) Cricut Word Collage Cartridge - Now you can make beautiful Subway art wall decor, plaques and even cards!  I love all the different fonts on this!  Can't wait until it's compatible with the Imagine so I can print it out!

I made this card by first cutting the "Stitch" word collage at 4" and then carefully applying the letters to the stitching-like paper.  I did this by using the background as a stencil and outlining the letters with a pencil so I would know where each letter went.  This was time consuming.  Vinyl would have been easier but I didn't want shiny letters.

5) Cricut Sweet Tooth Boxes - This cartridge is specifically for fun gifts and yummy goodieds.  Many of the boxes on here have inserts for cupcakes.

I loved this cake slice and thought it would be fun to cut!  I double layered the top section and then added a flower from Flower Shoppe and ric-rack to dress it up.  Paper was sprayed with shimmery mist and pink layers were embossed with the Art Deco Cuttlebug folder.

6) Cricut Girl's Makeup Party - Another "events" cartridge for a girl's makeup party.

I used Teresa Collins Black and White Imagine cartridge to make the striped background paper.

7) Cricut Robot Party Cartridge - A boy themed party cartridge with some super cute robot-themed decorations!

8) Cricut Space Party Cartridge- Another boy themed party cartridge - now featuring space and alien figures!

Be sure to head over to my BFF Melanie's blog at Courtney Lane Designs to see all the fabulous things she made.  Her frame project is to die for, as is the super cute little house box she made, just to name a few items.  Oh, and wait until you see the card she made with Space Party - it's out of this world!

Scrapbooking around the Internet...

Here's some interesting things I've found around the internet lately about scrapbooking and crafting:

1) CHA preview site - CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) is having their summer show in Chicago in a few weeks. This is the show where manufacturers show their upcoming products.  PaperCrafter's Corner has a site dedicated to showing the CHA sneak peeks and you can see it HERE!  SEI, Webster's Pages, My Little Shoebox and the new line by Margie Aslett-Romney (of Girl's Paperie and Making Memories fame) called Authentique are on the site now.

2) Evernote - Have you heard of this free, awesome site?  It lets you organize and store all the info you find on the internet - photos, recipes, links, pages, articles, etc.  It even has password protected pages so you could store all your passwords in one place (this may be available only on the paid section, though). Anyway, it has changed the way I surf the net.  Now, finding all those articles, photos, etc. is so easy since I can organize it into files.  You can access your content across all kinds of devices and it automatically syncs everything to all the devices.  Check it out!

3) Big Picture Scrapbooking Classes - New scrapbooking classes are being launched right now - one that has caught my eye is called the Motherload - make 26 layouts in 26 days!  Great way to get caught up! Too intense?  They've got all kinds of quick, instant download classes also.  Thorough, professionally done classes and materials at an affordable price.

4) Tomorrow is another Cricut cartridge release from Provocraft - head back here to see the new cartridges with projects!

June Hello Thursday Round 2- New Cricut Cartridges!

Welcome to Hello Thursday - Week 2!  Hello Thursday is the day when Provocraft releases new Cricut cartridges and we've got six new ones this week!

First off, though, let's start with a giveaway:

I am giving away a Pack Your Bags Cricut Cartridge in honor of summer vacation starting!

How can you win?

1) Leave a comment letting me know your favorite Cricut cartridge of today's release.
2) Subscribe or follow the blog.

That's it!

Winners will be announced Tuesday, June 21, 2011 and winners have two weeks to claim their prize.

Now, onto the releases, which are on sale on cricut.com - just click the cartridge title to head over there!

1) Teresa Collins Sophisticated Cricut Cartridge - my favorite of the release!

This 12" x 12" layout was so fun to put together.  All the papers are from Teresa Collins Baby Boutique Imagine cartridge.

I embellished the frame with some rhinestones above and below layered two of the word art selections (Family and celebrate) to create a title.  The layered swirls and journaling tag are also from this Sophisticated Cricut cartridge.

Finally, this "T" frame is part of an entire lower case and upper case alphabet.  Forgive the deep blue - it doesn't look like that in real life.

3) Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 Cartridge - More variations on the Ornamental Iron theme.

This 12" x 12" layout uses one of the background irons combined with Anna Griffin papers and embellishments.

4) Cricut Phrases Cartridge - Three sets of layered phrases and one set of coordinating cards/tags/shapes cover all occasions you would need for scrapbooking and card making.

I need a gift bag for Father's Day on Sunday and thought this "You da Man" word art was funny and definitely unusual!  This bag also includes all kinds of stars cut out from this cartridge as there is a whole feature key with layered shapes and cards to go with the phrases.  The flourishes coming off the large star are from the Cricut Essentials cartridge (the corner looked funny unadorned...).  Paper by Core'dinations.

5) Cricut Summer Celebrations Cartridge - Three designers with quite different styles contributed to make this summer themed cartridge.  Has a card feature, tag feature and lots of word art also.

Hey, a Father's Day card to go with the bag above.  OK, the color schemes don't match BUT the sentiments go together!  This is actually an easel card made in A2 size.  Below you see it flattened and then propped up.  Paper by Close to My Heart.

6) Cricut Autumn Celebrations Cartridge - Same three designers as Summer Celebrations make up this fall themed cartridge.  Note the more grown up looking images, for those of you who aren't into cutesy.

This 5" x 5" card uses one of the word art plaques on the cartridge and paper by DCWV.
