So, for instance, if you look at the new Cricut Sesame Street Seasons cartridge, you might think, "well, my kids are too old for this" OR "I'm not a teacher so I wouldn't use this..". Perhaps, I even thought these things...LOL!
Check out this Christmas box below:
This box cut, with the scalloped rectangles, is on the Cricut Sesame Street Seasons cartridge! How perfect is this box to use for a gift card or jewelry? The image was initially intended to be a box to hold flash cards.
Here are the details on the box:
The front/top of the box is just layered squares and rectangles. The stamp is from Papertrey Ink. I used a Spellbinders die to outline the stamp. The bell with flourishes is from the new Cricut Quarter Note cartridge - it went perfectly with the stamped sentiment. I added a gold brad on the bell for the ringer. Flowers are by Prima and layered together using a glittery brad.
I cut the box at 5-1/2" (base and layer 1 - key 42). Then, I cut the associated scalloped rectangles (shift base - key 42) at 5-1/2" for the red (two of these - one for top and one for bottom), 5-1/4" for the gold and 5" for the gold script paper. Box assembly was very easy. I used red sticky strip and Scotch Quick Dry adhesive glue to hold it together.
Red striped ribbon is by Stampin' Up! Ribbon needs to be adhered to the top box, underneath the scalloped rectangles. The edging along the box is made using a Martha Stewart punch and then glued on.
I had a blast making this box! It was VERY EASY!!
Have a great day!!
