Oh, I have heard this before, I think some people have tried taking the blade from the deep cut blade housing and put it in the regular green housing. Does that make sense?

Other people have given up and found the green blade is fine as long as they multi-cut. I have used the green blade on multi-cut to cut from thin chipboard (cereal box width...OK, so it was a Captain Crunch box...). Anyway, don't buy a new one. If the green one works, forget about the deep cut blade.

It's gotten mixed reviews all along.

Thank you for so much info on the cutting chipboard but I am left scratching my head still. I wonder if anyone out there knows why I am having this problem. My deep cut blades don't cut through anything!!! Yes I've used new ones and all different settings to make sure. Meanwhile if I use my regular blade, I can cut through felt, chipboard, shrink plastic, without any problems. Could it be that the deep cut blade housing is not meant to be used with the Cricut Personal? Could it be that I ruined the housing somehow? I haven't bought a new one yet thinking that its gotta be impossible to break that thing. HELP!!! :)
