What Cricut Machine Should You Get?

I've created a very simplified decision tree to help you decide which Cricut machine you should get this Christmas!

Here are some other points and features to consider (#ad):
1) The Cricut Maker is a more powerful machine and also allows you to cut all kinds of fabric without a backing and also to cut felt cleanly.
2) The Cricut Maker will require the knife blade to cut thicker materials like balsa wood. The knife blade will not be available until sometime in 2018 (no expected date announced).
3) The Cricut Maker does come with a rotary blade which makes fabric cutting clean with no sizer/backing.
4) The Cricut Maker is able to cut fabric and materials cleaner as it has a variable pressure which reduces bunching or incomplete cuts which can occur with intricate designs.
5) The Explore Air/Air 2 can also cut fabric but will need a backing applied. It will not ever be able to cut balsa wood as the pressure it needs to exert is not strong enough.
6) If you are mainly a paper crafter and/or vinyl user, the Explore Air and Air 2 will be more than adequate for your needs.
7) The Cricut Maker is the newest machine and that may outweigh any other concerns as many people like the latest and greatest.
