[Video]Make a FAST Cricut Large Double Display Card

I always want to make these specialty foldy cards but frankly, I am too impatient to deal with the cutting and scoring using my paper trimmer.

So, I decided to design a Cricut Design Space file (used only with the Explore family of machines) that would do the work for me! WHOOP! Original card design was by Susan Bluerobot.

Now, for those of you without a Cricut Explore (and girl, you need to get one!), farther down below in the post is a diagram of the "by hand" cuts and scores you need to do.
Above, you can see the card when it is folded. It measures 5" wide by 6" tall. I would use a 5" x 7" envelope or make one using the Explore.
And here is the card when you first remove the belly band.

Check out this video to see how to make this card after you cut it out on your Explore (also shows how to fold the card properly!).

I made a second card for Mother's Day above using the file. Honestly, the part that takes the longest is choosing the paper!

Finally, here are the handcut measurements (for people NOT using the Cricut Explore file):
Watch the video to see how to fold the card and also how to size the pieces that make up the card.

Here is a picture of the different sections once you have cut out your piece and folded it:
These sizes will help you size your patterned paper that you put inside these spaces.

Just make your patterned paper 1/4" smaller in both dimensions to get a nice border around them (see video for more details).

For instance, pieces labelled #1 are at 6"x 2-1/2". So, to put a patterned piece on top of piece #1, I would size the patterned paper at 5-3/4" x 2-1/4".

For those cutting by hand, you will want to cut out those #1 pieces and adhere them to the space #1 shown in the photo above (see video for details).

I hope you enjoy making this card as much as I did! It goes so quickly with the file!
