Cricut Create a Critter Dog Themed Card

A quick shaped card for the dog lovers out there!

The dalmatian from the Cricut Create A Critter cartridge and was cut at 2-3/4" and the doghouse from Pop Up Neighborhood was cut at 4-1/2", two times so it was a thicker card front.  Instead of welding the doghouse, I just used a sheet of white and folded it in half for the card part.
There are also doghouses on Create A Critter, Paper Pups, Mickey and Friends, Doodlecharms, and Paper Dolls for Everyday.  I liked this one best for this project.

A tip: use a ruler to make your faux stitching - don't free hand it like I did.
Here is the new Stamp of the Month for June - it coordinates with the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and is so cute for the upcoming Fourth of July!

It's just $5 when you spend $50+ at my Close to My Heart shopping page.

  1. Cute card! My grandkids would love this card! I am really more of a cat person, too. We had both when my children were young, but I've only had a cat since they all grew to be adults. They are nice companions and not nearly so much work as a dog!

  16. Love it! So cute! I am a cat person, but I also like, live with and love my dog. Shhhhh... actually I think I'm turning into the crazy cat lady. I had three and then hubby called when they found a 3 week old kitten at work, under the dumpster, to ask if I wanted it. Poor baby had several people who would have taken him in (he's sooo cute), but hubby called dibs and gave him to me instead. And yet the man claims to not like my cats and always acts annoyed with them, when they do cat silly things. I think he secretly loves them and just doesn't want to admit it. Why else would he willing add to my menagerie? I would never have known they found a kitten. LOL!

  36. Hi! I have subscribed to your blog for a long time but haven't posted before. I was looking for creative ways to use my Cricut. Thank you for the dog card. I have a Cricut cartridge subscription and was thrilled when I found the Create a Critter cartridge. I just cut out my dog, finally, but still have trouble layering. I had to cut all my pieces from all the colors! But I will learn! I learned how to change sizes today. I am disappointed the Pop Up Neighborhood is not available on my subscription, but I will find a substitute. Did you use a Cricut Explore? I only have the Cricut Expression, and I had to make some finishing touches to the dog (eyes, mouth) to make him look polished. But I am happy with him. I had looked at this cartridge a lot before, but never really knew what to do with it. Now I think I will be happy cutting and creating lots of critters! Thank you for the idea!
