  1. Thank you for the video. I have one question about layers. When you are using the real dial size, you can't do layers, right? If you set it on real dial size, each piece is going to cut at that size so they won't fit together. Am I overthinking this?

  2. I understand that with the Artbooking cartridge we will have to pay more attention to the Real Dial Size when cutting images that are not cut with the suggested size shown in the handbook. I think I'll need to use Cricut Craft Room or the Gypsy to see what the width will be when adjusting the sizes.

  3. Thanks for the video! I always have trouble with this stuff. Maybe because I use CCR or my Gypsy so I don't need to worry about it until I need it. It is always good to be reminded about what these buttons do. Thanks.

  13. Great video! I was just wondering how to do this and I opened up your email and there it was, thank you so much, now I totally understand it, but I was wondering if you could just post the banner sheet (where you cut it four times using different sizes and real size on & off) so I could put it with the cartridge to remind me - thanks so much.

  14. I'm loving the cute things you are making with the Artbooking cartridge, it's now on my Christmas wish list. I would also love to win the other cartridge - love cartridges with fonts - I use them for my scrapbooks.

  15. I am brand new to the Cricut and don't understand all of what you said although it looks like you did an excellent job explaining everything. I will try these things though and hopefully everything will fall into place by trial and error.

  16. Sizing is one of the problems I have. Thanks for the tips.

  17. Wonderful video. Your sizing tips are so helpful and seeing the comparisons side by side are a great visual.

I have a question--can the 8x8 mini album overlays be converted to larger albums by simply cutting them at 11" (or is that to easy)? I don't do mini books but like the look of some of the mini book layouts.

  25. Thank you so much for showing the examples cut using different options :D VIdeo was very easy to understand THANK YOU!

    ReplyDelete
  26. So you cut what 'they' prescribe in the book NO real dial size and what does that = . What I am asking because your video was very clear and helpful, and all images will be cut proportional but what does that equate to: a card? Not a page layout looking at the size... maybe overthinking this.

  27. Yes I understood the video--thanks!

  31. Great tutorial Joy gosh I am so stoked about knowing this. I never ever use those buttons on my Cricut weird huh!! Well now I will and now I what to do and understand what to do thanks to your awesome video. Joy you are just so awesome to share all this great info so now when I use my Artbooking cartridge I'll be in great shape.

  32. Thanks for making clear about the cartridge. I have one of the first ones that Close to my Heart put out. Can't wait to get the newest one.

  33. Joy I haven't been excited to use my Cricut in a long time. With not having a large table it sits on the shelf more. I have to say this new CTMH cart seems like a must have. I'm really thinking about picking this one up. And you did a great job in this video seeing how I haven't pulled out my cricut. I think I'll pull it out sometime this week.

  34. Thanks, the video was easy to understand. Can you use the "Layout cartridges" with all the cricut machines? I only have the original cricut, before the "Imagine" or the "Expression"...I would love to use the layouts in my scrapbooks.? Can anyone tell me they are still using the original diecutter? And which of the newer cartridges they are using?

  35. Thank you so much for the video. I always forget to check my real size option and I've come up with some cuts that are crazy and didn't know why...now I know!

  39. Great video. I understand about the cut size the boook gives, and real dial size, but there have been some great questions! How do you get your layers sized correctly when using real dial size? and if it calls for an 8 inch cut on the mini books, can I increase that to, say, 11 inches and just have everything cut a bit bigger if I wanted to??

    ReplyDelete
  40. And a strange question. I have gotten your emails for at least four years, but does that make me a blog follower? I see the Google Plus thing but I am not sure what that is . Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks so much for the video. I still am not quite sure if I understand all this, but I have a lot going on at the moment. Will try to keep this in mind when I get around to using my cartridge.

  68. I always tell my crafty friends that if they are using a cut that is part of a layered image to do a test cut first and see what size it comes out. Then use Real Dial Size to make it the size they really want. Comparing the two cuts as you did makes it easier to understand! Thanks for posting!
