Creative University and 3-D Tree Project

Welcome to some of the projects I made this past weekend at Creative University, a four day event put on by Tresa Black in the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho area.  Here are four of the five of us with the tree.  I am standing next to Pam. Our fifth roommate, Mystique, worked on her projects in two locations, upstairs and downstairs, for which we teased her unmercifully. I hogged her space when she wasn't around.  She was off at the time this photo was taken.

Below are two of my roomies, Lisa and Heather (left - right).  Heather came up with this super cute idea of making a 3-D tree to give to Tresa as a hostess gift.  We decided it would be a fun thing for all of us roomies to make together.

Above are the animal tags Lisa and I put together.  Tag #1, 3, 4, 8 and 9 are from Straight from the Nest, tag #2 is from Give A Hoot, Tags #5, 6, and 7 are from Noah's ABCs Cricut cartridge.  All were cut at 1-1/2" or 2".
Lisa rocked the Stickles and mounted all the animals on these cute backgrounds.  I can't believe what a difference those Stickles (glitter glue) makes.  She is quite handy at it.  I usually smear it and get it everywhere. I may start using it more, after some practice.
The owl had a lazy eye - who knew?

The tree from various angles!

Below is a picture of Tresa holding the tree.  Isn't she gorgeous?

All the roommates together!  (l->r: Mystique, Pam, Lisa, Joy and Heather).
Above, Lisa and I are showing off the bracelets we/she made in the jewelry class.
Below is Kim, who pretty much put my bracelet together.  Jewelry making is a skill I need to work on!  Kim was so sweet, even when I dropped the clasp and lost it and was generally inept.
Hard at work at 4:30 am (my time) - I couldn't get used to the time change so it seemed a good time to craft!
While we were there, it snowed twice!  Gorgeous!
Lake Coeur d'Alene (above and below)

Above are two sweet ladies (Robin and Molly) with Tresa.  I met them on the plane; they were sitting in the row in front of me on my last leg and were really nice.
This wall hanging was in the dining hall and Molly and Robin thought it would be fun to take a photo with it.  Great idea!

I loved everything about this event - the classes, food, friends, location!  I will be posting more about the classes as they were outstanding.

I took none of these photos - the beautiful scenery photos were by Molly and Robin, who obviously have outstanding photography skills.  The roommate photos and tree/project photos were taken by Lisa.

  32. Hi Joy - Love the tree! Glad you had a great time - it looks beautiful there in Idaho. I have one question for you, though. You said what cartridges you used for making the animal tags, but you didn't say how you made or where you purchased the tree itself!!

I am thinking that an ancestry project could be in the making by putting small pictures of family members on the tree for a 3D FAMILY TREE! Is the 3D tree on any of the Cricut cartridges?

I'd be excited to know! I can be reached by e-mail at kmurphy614@gmail.com
