Cricut Just A Note Cards!

I'm so excited to show you some cards I made with the new Cricut Just A Note cartridge!  This is one of the pre-loaded cartridges that comes on the new Cricut Anniversary Expression 2 machine.  This machine will be available from HSN exclusively starting on April 26 - just a little over a week away!  Here's a picture of the E2 below:

Melanie and I are planning a really fun Ustream on Monday, April 25 at 8 pm (central time) where we will show you projects and have some OUTSTANDING giveaways!   More details on that to come...

This first card was cut at 5-1/2". I love the tri-fold card feature on this cartridge. There are 50 tri-fold cards to make with layered animals/images and word art. This card was the simplest of the three I made, as the tree is only two layers.  The "hang in there" is word art that goes with the card layers so it fits perfectly.  Everything was cut at 5-1/2".
I ran the tree through the Cuttlebug and inked the edges of the trunk to give it a woodsy feel. I popped up the tree top to give some dimension. I love the double sided paper for this card - the clouds and green are perfect for this motif.  Background paper was by Jillibean Soup.
This next card is more heavily layered than the first as I cut the bunny rabbit multiple times to get different colors for his balloon and hat.  I made the hat stripes by just using my scissors and creating stripes with a blue hat and then gluing them on.  I also backed the eyes with brown as otherwise his eyes would have been pink.  Everything on this card is also cut at 5-1/2".
A view of the card as it's being opened...
Above you can see the bunny is popped up.  Background paper is by Echo Park.  Glitter paper by DCWV.
Finally, this "feel better" card has a few more bells and whistles to it.

Looking at the cartridge handbook page, you can see the Card and Card Layer feature keys.  You will notice that the "feel better" has no layers and the bear on the Card Layer feature key has just one layer.  To dress up the card, I decided to figure out what size the "feel better" and the bear needed to be to use the images with all the layers.

While the card is cut at 5-1/2", the bear itself is cut at 4-1/4" and fully layered, cut as the base image.  It layers just like the Cricut Create A Critter cartrige, from bottom up.
Here is the front view of the bear....
The "feel better" was also cut using the Phrase and Phrase Layer options and NOT the associated phrase that goes with the card feature.  I cut this at 2-1/4" and used all the choices except the shadow feature.  That's why it has the multi-colors.  If you notice in the other two card examples, it just shows one color because that's what the card feature key allows. Double sided cardstock by Echo Park.

Now, in my excitement to make these cards, I forgot to line the inside for you to write your sentiment.  No problem to add a bit of cream colored paper on the inside flap where it won't show through.

I think using double sided cardstock really makes these cards pop!  Choosing that paper is tricky, though.  It was the hardest part of the process for me.

I'll have some video up later about the E2 so check back...
