Cricut Hello Thursday April 2011 & Giveaway!

We just got approval to show you our creations with the new Cricut Cartridges for April!  WOO HOO!

Fasten your seatbelt, folks, we've got lots to cover.  There were a whopping SEVENTEEN cartridges released this month!

But, first a giveaway!

I am giving away ONE Cricut cartridge!

1) ROCK PRINCESS:

How can you win?

1) Leave a comment letting me know your favorite cartridge of the release.
2) Subscribe or follow the blog.

Winners will be chosen next Thursday, April 28, 2011.  Winners have two weeks to claim their prize.

Melanie also has a fabulous giveaway and a showcase of projects for all the cartridges - head over to Courtney Lane Designs to see her beautiful creations!

Now, on with the show:

Cricut Lite Beep Beep:

Photobucket
This "fast lane" card is 5" x 7" and layers from the bottom up.  I added the white for the windows by tracing around the card and taping to the back.  I wish there was a blackout for the cars. The "fast lane" word art was also from this cartridge and even at the 1" I cut it at, the letters cut out nicely. I thought this would be a great card for a boy's birthday.  Paper by My Minds Eye and Cosmo Cricket.

Cricut Lite Bump in the Night:

Photobucket
I love this tent topper style of card.  It's finished size is 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" and the base measures 4-1/4" x 4-1/4".  This monster layered easily - no bitty pieces (yay!). Paper by SEI and stamp by Hero Arts (digital).

Cricut Lite Crocs Rule:

Photobucket

I made this cute 5" x 5" croc card in a jiffy!  The crocodile layers from the bottom up and goes together in a snap.  I used the Cuttlebug to emboss crocodile types squares on him.

Paper by Stampin Up! and Coredinations.

Cricut Lite Yee-haw:

Photobucket
A simple card made with the new Cricut Yee-haw cartridge.  I loved this vista cut so thought it would make a fun card.  I used the Cuttlebug on the cactus and then sanded it to give it some realistic dimension. I cut the word art "wild west" at 1".  I used a wood grain stamp on the background and inked the edge for some detail work.  A bit of twine finishes off the card.

Cricut Paper Lace 2:

Photobucket
This guy inspired card has three elements from the new Paper Lace 2 Cricut cartridge.  The gear background, the gear border and the "thinking of you" layered word art is all from this cartridge.  A quick and easy 5" x 5" manly card...

Cricut Imagine Teresa Collins Baby Boutique:

Photobucket
The papers (except the black) is from this Teresa Collins Imagine Baby Boutique cartridge.  I love the framed initials on this cartridge - they layer up beautifully!  I also used the scalloped ovals from the Imagine machine as a background to the frame on the "J".  The Cuttlebug was used with the Swiss Dots folder to give some texture.  Card size is 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".You'd never guess this came from a baby type cartridge....

Cricut Imagine Teresa Collins Black and White:

Or you could print these out on colored papers!  I used some yellow papers to print the leaf pattern and the polka dot pattern.  Note that the polka dots are large!  Stamp by My Creative Time.

Cricut Imagine Vintage Damask Colors and Patterns:

Background papers are all from this new Cricut Vintage Damask cartridge, except the white.  Flower, sentiment and bow are from Anna Griffin (love her!).

INCLUDED with the new Cricut Anniversary Expression 2 machine (launching April 26 on HSN):

Cricut Just A Note (exclusive to this Anniversary model):

For more info on these cards, head over HERE!

Cricut Decals (exclusive to this Anniversary model):

I made these tumblers this week on Everyday Cricut using both the Cricut Decals cartridge and the Cricut American Alphabet cartridge. I love the bug head!  There are 50 different bug heads on this cartridge - super cute!

Photobucket

Cricut American Alphabet:

Photobucket
I created this faux shaped card by cutting the shadow layer twice and then just gluing the top 2" together.  I scored the bottom layer so it would open easily.  The present and word art are just some of the goodies on this packed full of fun cartridge with three different fonts!  One of the fonts is shown above on the tumblers.

Cricut Essentials:

Finally, we have "THE BEST OF" series of cartridges!  These are perfect for newbies and maybe others who got started late.  Take a look:

Cricut Best of 2006:

Cricut Best of 2007:

Cricut Best of 2008:

Cricut Best of 2009:

Cricut Best of 2010:

  1. I think that my favourite is Beep, Beep. I just love those smiling cars. If I had an Imagine, then I'd be all over the Vintage Damask Colors and Patterns or the Theresa Collins Black and White (which looked equally incredible on your coloured paper!).

  45. Even though I love all of your projects featuring the newest cartridges, I don't see a single one that I can't live without. I don't own an Imagine so though I like Black & White, it wouldn't do me much good to own it. Of the regular cartridges, Best of 2010 would be my choice. Too much cutesy again for my taste. Thanks for all your hard work and the chance to win.
